さて、わたしはあなたがたが謙遜であり、従順で素直であり、容易に勧告に従い、忍耐と寛容に富み、すべてのことについて自制し、いつも熱心に神の戒めを守るように、また霊的にも物質にも、必要としているものは何でも求め、与えられるものについては何であろうといつも神に感謝するように願っている。またあなたがたは信仰と希望、慈愛を必ず持つようにしてほしい。そうするときに、あなたがたはいつも多くの行いをするであろう。アルマ書７：２３−２４ And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.  And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works.
