見よ、わたしは異邦人に彼らの弱さを示し、また信仰と希望と慈愛が彼らをわたしのもとに、すなわち、あらゆる義の源に導くことを彼らに示そう。エテル書１２：２８ Behold, I will show unto the Gentiles their weakness, and I will show unto them that faith, hope and charity bringeth unto me — the fountain of all righteousness.  Ether 12:28 This scripture was written by Moroni, toward the end of his translation of the 24 gold plates that were found by the people of king Limhi.  These 24 gold plates became the Book of Ether. この聖句はモロナイがリムハイ王の民によって見つかった24 枚の金版の翻訳が終わり近づいたころに書かれました。この24 枚の金版は後にエテル書となりました。 As Moroni writes, he worries that he is not good enough for the calling that the Lord has given him.  He tells the Lord that people will “mock at these things”. むしろあなたがたは忍耐し、いつの日かあらゆる苦難を離れて休めるという確固とした望みをもってそれらの苦難に耐えるように、あなたがたに勧める。アルマ章３４：４１ But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions.  Alma 34:41 This scripture is from the time that Alma and Amulek and others were teaching the poor people of the Zoramites.  Those people had worked hard to build the church buildings that the Zoramites used.  However, once the buildings were finished, they were not allowed to use them because they had no money. この聖句はアルマやアミュレクたちが貧しいゾーラム人に教えていた時に記録されたものです。人々はゾーラム人が使う教会堂を建てるため熱心に働きました。しかし、ひとたび建築が終わると彼らはお金がないという理由で教会堂を使わせてもらえませんでした。 Alma tried to teach the rich Zoramites about the gospel, but they would not listen.  Many of these poor people came to Alma and asked what they should do.  They wanted to worship God, but they were not allowed to use the churches. アルマは裕福なゾーラム人に福音を教えようとしましたが聞く耳を持っていませんでした。貧しい多くの人々がアルマのところにやって来てどうしたらよいか尋ねました。彼らは神を礼拝したいのに教会を使わせてもらえなかったのです。 Alma taught them a great lesson on faith, as recorded in the 32nd chapter of Alma. May 12, 2019 悔い改めと主イエス・キリストを信じる信仰についてこの民に宣べ伝えなさい。謙遜になるように、また柔和で心のへりくだった者になるように教えなさい。主イエス・キリストを信じる信仰をもって、悪魔のあらゆる誘惑に立ち向かうように教えなさい。善い行いをするのに決して疲れず、柔和で心のへりくだった者になるようにこの民に教えなさい。このような者は、その霊に安息を得るであろう。 アルマ章３７：３３－３４ Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest for their souls. Alma 37:33-34 In this scripture, Alma is giving some important counsel to his oldest son, Helaman.  The counsel Alma gives to Helaman is good instruction for us as well. この聖句ではアルマが長男ヒラマンに勧告を与えています。そのヒラマンへの勧告は私たちにもよい教えです。 Alma lists four things that we should do.
