June 2, 2019 「兄さんたち、もし兄さんたちが義にかなっていて、神の御前をまっすぐに歩めるように、進んで真理に聞き従い、それを心に留めるならば、その真理をためにつぶやいて、『おまえは我々に厳しいことを言った』　などとは言わないでしょう。」　ニーファイ第一章１６：３ And now my brethren, if ye were righteous and were willing to hearken to the truth, and give heed unto it, that ye might walk uprightly before God, then ye would not murmur because of the truth, and say: Thou speakest hard things against us.  1 Nephi 16:3 Prior to this scripture, Nephi had been teaching his older brothers about the Tree of Life vision. May 19, 2019 しかし、わたしニーファイは、これまで書き記してきたものを大いに価値があると考え、特にわたしの民にとってそうであると考えている。わたしは昼は絶えず民のために祈り、夜は彼らのことを心配して涙で枕を濡らしている。そしてわたしは、信仰をもって神に叫び求めている。わたしは、神がわたしの嘆願を聞き届けてくださることを知っている。また、主なる神がわたしの祈りを民の益となるように神聖なものとしてくださることを、わたしは知っている。また、弱点がありながらも書き記してきた言葉は、わたしの民のために力強いものとなるであろう。それは、この言葉が善を行うように説き勧め、また彼らに先祖のことを知らせ、イエスについて述べ、イエスを信じて最後まで堪え忍ぶように彼らに説き勧めるものだからである。イエスを信じて最後まで堪え忍ぶならば、永遠の命を授かるである。ニーファイ第二書３３：３−４ But I, Nephi, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great worth, and especially unto my people.  For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow at night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know he will hear my cry.  And I know that the Lord God will consecrate my prayer for the gain of my people. May 12, 2019 悔い改めと主イエス・キリストを信じる信仰についてこの民に宣べ伝えなさい。謙遜になるように、また柔和で心のへりくだった者になるように教えなさい。主イエス・キリストを信じる信仰をもって、悪魔のあらゆる誘惑に立ち向かうように教えなさい。善い行いをするのに決して疲れず、柔和で心のへりくだった者になるようにこの民に教えなさい。このような者は、その霊に安息を得るであろう。 アルマ章３７：３３－３４ Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest for their souls. Alma 37:33-34 In this scripture, Alma is giving some important counsel to his oldest son, Helaman.  The counsel Alma gives to Helaman is good instruction for us as well. この聖句ではアルマが長男ヒラマンに勧告を与えています。そのヒラマンへの勧告は私たちにもよい教えです。 Alma lists four things that we should do. May 5, 2019 また、それらの指針の上には新しい言葉が記されて、それは読みやすく、主の道についてわたしたちに理解を与えてくれるものであった。そしてその言葉は、わたしたちが寄せる信仰と熱意に応じて、時々書き替えられた。このようにして、主は小さな手段によって大いなることを成し遂げることが分かるのである。ニーファイ第１書１６：２９ And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it.  And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things. 1 Nephi 16:29 In this short scripture, Nephi tells us how the Liahona worked.  He says that there were things written on the Liahona.
