聖書は、すべて神の霊感を受けて書かれたものであって、人を教え、戒め、正しくし、義に導くのに有益である。それによって、神の人が、あらゆる良いわざに対して十分な準備ができて、完全にととのえられたものになるのである。テモテへ第二の手紙３：１６−１７

And all scripture given by inspiration of God, is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 (JST)

私たちは教会で真の教義を学びたいと願っています。真の教義とは何でしょうか？

In the Church, we seek to teach true doctrine.  But what is true doctrine?

真の教義とは、天父のようになり、天父のもとに帰る道を示す永遠の真理でのことです。

True doctrine is eternal truth that shows us the way to become like our Father in Heaven and return to him.

真の教義はどのように学べるのでしょうか？真の教義はどこで見つけられるのでしょうか？

How can we learn true doctrine?  Where do we find true doctrine?  

真の教義は、誰でもすぐに手に入れることができます。真の教義はふたつの場所で見つけることができます。一つは聖典の中にあります。もう一つは、末日の預言者や使徒たちの言葉の中にあります。

True doctrine is readily accessible to all of us.  True doctrine in found in two places.  One place to find true doctrine is in the scriptures.  The second place to find true doctrine is in the words of latter-day prophets and apostles.

天父は、ご自分の娘や息子たち一人一人を愛しておられ、彼らが皆、資格を得て戻って来て、天父と再び一緒に暮らすことを望んでおられます。

Heavenly Father loves each one of his daughters and sons, and wants them all to qualify to return and live with him again.

私たちが天父と暮らすにふさわしい者となるためには、戒めに従わなければなりません。戒めに従うためには、まずそれが何であるかを知らなければなりません。戒めとは何かを知るためには、聖典と現代の預言者や使徒たちの言葉を学ばなければなりません。

In order for us to be worthy to return and live with Heavenly Father, we must obey the commandments.  In order to obey the commandments, we must first know what they are.  In order to learn what they are, we must study the scriptures and the words of our modern-day prophets and apostles.

聖文はイエス・キリストについて教えているので、私たちの真の教義の最初の源です。D・トッド・クリストファーソン長老は、「聖文の第一の目的は、私たちの心を父なる神とその御子イエス・キリストを信じる信仰で満たすことです」と教えています。聖文には、偉大な信仰の模範、罪を犯すことの結果、救いの計画、そして最も重要な救い主イエス・キリストの生涯と教導の業が記されています。

The scriptures are our first source of true doctrine, because they teach us about Jesus Christ.  Elder D. Todd Christofferson taught, “The central purpose of all scripture is to fill our souls with faith in God the Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ”.  In the scriptures, we find examples of great faith, of the consequences of committing sin, of the Plan of Salvation, and most importantly, of the life and ministry of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

現在、私たちは、真の教義を教えてくれる生ける預言者や使徒たちに恵まれています。天父は御自身の真の教義を預言者や使徒たちにお与えになり、その預言者や使徒たちが真の教義を私たちに教えてくれます。最近、私たちは総大会で生ける預言者と使徒から話を聞く機会がありました。彼らが私たちに教えたことは、神からの霊感によって与えられたものであり、真の教義です。

In our own day, we are blessed to have living prophets and apostles on the earth to teach us true doctrine.  Heavenly Father gives his true doctrine to his prophets and apostles, who then teach us true doctrine.  We recently had the opportunity to hear from our living prophets and apostles in General Conference.  The things that they taught us, which were given to them by inspiration from God, are true doctrine.  

真の教義を手に入れることは最初の一歩に過ぎません。天父は、私たちが行動し、読み、学び、熟考し、祈ることを期待しておられます。これらのステップに従うなら、何が真実で何が真実でないかを自分で知ることができます。

Having true doctrine available is only the first step.  Heavenly Father expects us to act, to read, to study, to ponder, and to pray.  If we follow these steps, we can know for ourselves what is true and what is not true.

聖文、そして預言者たちや使徒たちの言葉を学ぶことで、私たちは霊的な力を得ることができます。霊的な力を得ると、聖霊から霊感と導きをより容易に受けることができます。モロナイが教えているように、聖霊の力によって、私たちはすべてのことの真理を知ることができるのです。

As we study the scriptures and the words of our prophets and apostles, we gain spiritual strength.  As we gain spiritual strength, we can more easily receive inspiration and guidance from the Holy Ghost.  As Moroni taught, by the power of the Holy Ghost, we can know the truth of all things.

今週、聖文と生ける預言者の言葉をよりよく学ぶために、何ができるでしょうか？

What can you do this week to improve your study of the scriptures and the words of living prophets?

新しい週が始まります。聖典の勉強を改善する方法を探してみましょう。ソーシャルメディアに費やす時間よりも、聖文を学ぶ時間を優先してみましょう。学びと祈りを通して、真の教義を探求し、聖霊に教えられ、証を受けるにふさわしい者となりましょう。救い主イエス・キリストに近づき、真の教義を学ぶために時間を賢く使いましょう。

As we go through this week, let’s find ways to improve our scripture study.  Let’s place a higher priority on scripture study time than on social media time.  Let’s search for true doctrine through study and prayer.  Let’s be worthy to have the Holy Ghost teach us and testify to us.  Let’s use our time wisely to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ and to learn more about his true doctrine.
