And after that, all those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.
Doctrine & Covenants 119:4
Section 119 of the Doctrine and Covenants contains one of the most important revelations of the Restoration. In this Section, the Law of Tithing is given to the Church.
教義と聖約 119 章には、回復の最も重要な啓示のひとつが記録されています。この章で、什分の一の律法が教会に与えられています。
The Law of Consecration had previously been given to the Church, but sadly, the members of the Church were not willing to live that law. In its place, the Lord gave a lesser law, the Law of Tithing, to the Church.
奉献の律法は、以前教会に与えられたことがありましたが、残念なことに、教会員はその律法に従おうとしませんでした。そこで、主はより軽い律法である什分の一の律法を教会に与えられました。
This same Law of Tithing existed anciently as well. We are taught in the Old Testament that Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek. The prophet Malachi teaches us about the great importance of living the Law of Tithing. Malachi also explains the great blessings that come as a result of faithfully living this law.

It is a great privilege to be able to pay our tithing.

The Law of Tithing seems to be one of the commandments that marks the division between those who are faithful followers of Jesus Christ and those who are not.
什分の一の律法は、イエス・キリストの忠実な従者とそうでない者とを区別する戒めに思われます。
Faithfully paying our tithing allows us to enter into the Holy Temple. Failure to obey this law prevents us from receiving the blessings of the Temple.
什分の一を忠実に納めることで、聖なる神殿に参入することができます。この律法に従わないと、神殿の祝福を受けることができなくなります。
The prophet Malachi testified that if we faithfully pay an honest tithe, the Lord will “open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.
私たちが什分の一を完全に納めれば、主は「天の窓を開いて、あふるる恵みを、あなたがたに注がれる」と預言者マラキは証しています。
The Lord will always keep his promises. If we obey the Law of Tithing, we will receive the promised blessings.
主は常に約束を守られます。什分の一の律法に従えば、約束された祝福を受けることができます。
Some have thought that the only blessings that come will be financial blessings. They thought that, if they paid their tithing, they would get lots of money. When this did not happen, they were very disappointed.
その唯一の祝福は経済的な祝福であると考える人もいます。什分の一を納めれば、たくさんのお金がもらえるだろうと考え、その様にならなかったとき、彼らは非常に失望します。
That is not how the Law of Tithing works. It is not a “get rich quick” scheme. Rather, it is a key that opens the door to blessings from heaven. Those blessings come in many forms.
什分の一の律法はそのようなものではありません。これは「一攫千金的」なものではありません。むしろ、それは天からの祝福の扉を開く鍵です。祝福はさまざまな形で与えられます。
Some of the blessings may be peace of mind, greater spiritual strength, improved relationships with family members, guidance from the Holy Ghost in our decision making, a greater ability to manage our finances, and many more.
祝福には、心の安らぎ、より大きな霊的な強さ、家族との関係の改善、私たちの意思決定における聖霊による導き、財政管理のより優れた能力などがあります。
I testify that living the Law of Tithing will bring great blessings. If you have struggled with this law, please start today to live it completely and honestly. You will be amazed at the changes that will come to your life. You will receive all of the promised blessings and your life will be happier.
什分の一の律法に従うことは大いなる祝福をもたらすことを証します。もしあなたがこの律法に苦しんでいるならば、それを完全にそして正直に守ることを今日から始めてください。あなたの人生の変化に驚くことでしょう。約束されたすべての祝福を享受し、より幸せな人生となることでしょう。
As we go through this next week, let’s commit to paying a full and honest tithe. Let’s put our faith in the Lord that the promised blessings will come. Let’s follow the counsel of our prophets and apostles and keep this commandment with exactness.
