This weekend we have the wonderful opportunity to hear from living prophets and apostles. General Conference is a time of spiritual renewal. It is a time when we can receive answers to our problems. It is a time when we can feel the Spirit of the Lord.
今週末私たちは生ける預言者や使徒からお話を聞くという素晴らしい機会があります。総大会は霊的に再生する機会です。私たちが抱える問題の答えを受ける機会です。主の御霊を感じることのできる機会でもあります。
One of the great blessings of living in this time is the wonderful technology available to us. Even though we are far from Salt Lake City, we can participate in General Conference. Even though our native language may not be English, we can participate in General Conference. Even though we may not be able to watch it as it happens, we can participate in General Conference.
今の時代に生きている偉大な祝福の一つは素晴らしい技術が用意されているということです。ソルトレークからはるか遠くにいても総大会に参加することができるのです。母国語が英語でなくても総大会に参加することができるのです。中継で視聴できなくとも総大会に参加できるのです。
Some of us can watch General Conference on TV or at our Stake Center or on the Internet. If we watch General Conference on the Internet, we can choose to watch in either English or Japanese. Even if we cannot watch General Conference as it happens, we can read all the messages in the Ensign or Liahona.
私たちはテレビまたはステークセンター、インターネットで総大会を視聴できます。インターネットで総大会を視聴するなら英語か日本語を選択することができます。中継で総大会を視聴出来なくても Ensign やリアホナですべてのメッセージを読むことができます。
Many wonderful messages will be delivered at General Conference. As we listen to the messages or read the messages, we will find answers to the problems in our lives. As we listen to the messages or read the messages, our testimony will be strengthened.
多くの素晴らしいメッセージが総大会で述べ伝えられます。メッセージを聴いたり読んだりするとき、私たちが人生で抱えている問題の答えを見つけることができます。メッセージを聴いたり読んだりするとき、私たちの証が強められます。
But, as James teaches us in this scripture, it is not enough just to hear the words of the Prophet and the Apostles.
しかしヤコブがこの聖句で教えているように、預言者や使徒の言葉を聴くだけでは十分ではありません。
Hearing is only the first step.
聴くことは最初の一歩にすぎません。
If all we do is hear the words, we have not made any improvements in our lives. If all we do is hear the words, we have treated General Conference as just entertainment. If all we do is hear the words, we have not understood the meaning of the words.
もし聴くことしかしなければ私たちの生活に何の進歩もありません。もし聴くことしかしなければ私たちは総大会を単なる娯楽としか扱っていません。もし聴くことしかしなければ私たちはその言葉の意味を理解していません。
It is helpful to take notes during General Conference. Write down what you feel about each talk. Write down the promptings that come to you as you listen to the messages. Write down something you learned from each talk.
総大会を聴いてノートをとることは有益です。それぞれのお話で感じたことを書き留めましょう。メッセージを聴いていて感じた促しを書き留めましょう。それぞれのお話から学んだことを何でも書き留めましょう。
Sometimes the promptings we receive have nothing to do with the particular topic of the talk. By listening carefully and praying for guidance, we are able to receive personal revelation for our own lives.
時々私たちが受ける促しはお話のテーマとは全く関係のないことがあります。注意深く聴き、導きを求めて祈ることで私たちは私たち自身のための啓示を受けることができます。
What did you learn from General Conference? What changes do you need to make in your life as a result of the promptings you received? What does the Lord want you to do now?
総大会から何を学びましたか？受けた促しの結果としてあなたの生活でどんなことを変えなければなりませんか？主はあなたに今何をしてほしいと望んでおられるでしょうか？
Maybe there was a prompting to read your scriptures every day. Maybe there was a prompting to pay a full and honest tithe. Maybe there was a prompting to repent of an old sin. Maybe there was a prompting to serve someone who is in need.
もしかして毎日聖典を読むようにという促しがあったかもしれません。もしかして正直で完全な什分の一を納めるようにという促しがあったかもしれません。もしかしたら助けの必要な誰かに尽くすようにという促しがあったかもしれません。
Whatever the prompting was, we need to act. As we take action and follow the promptings, the Lord will bless us and guide us. We will be able to accomplish the things the Lord wants us to do.
その促しが何であれ私たちは行動しなければなりません。促しに従い行動するとき、主は私たちを導き祝福してくださいます。主が私たちにしてほしいと望んでおられることを成し遂げれるでしょう。
General Conference has the power to change your life. The messages of General Conference are messages of happiness and life eternal. The messages of General Conference come to us from the Lord through his appointed Prophet and Apostles.
総大会はあなたの生活を変える力があります。総大会のメッセージは幸福と永遠の生命のメッセージです。総大会のメッセージは召された預言者や使徒を通して私たちに与えられます。
Let’s listen carefully to the messages of General Conference. Let’s listen to the promptings of the Spirit. And most importantly, let’s take action to follow those promptings.
総大会のメッセージを注意深く聴きましょう。霊のささやきや促しに耳を傾けましょう。そして一番大切なことはその促しに従って行動を起こすということです。
