御旨の奥義を、自らあらかじめ定められた計画に従って、わたしたちに示して下さったのである。それは、時満ちる時代に及んで実現されるご計画に他ならない。それによって、神は天にあるもの地にあるものを、ことごとく、キリストにあって一つに帰せしめようとされたのである。エペン人の手紙一章１:９−１０

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him.  Ephesians 1:9-10

In his letter to the church members living in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul prophecies about our day.  

使徒パウロはエペソに住んでいる教会員への手紙の中で今日の私たちの時代を予言しています。

(Even though this is the only letter of Paul to the Ephesians that we have today, it was at least the second letter he wrote to the members in that city (see Ephesians 3:3).  The letters the Apostles wrote to the various church members are much like the General Conference talks in our day. Unfortunately, we only have a few of the many letters the Apostles wrote.  Even those letters have been translated many times, from Hebrew or Greek into Latin, then into English, then into Japanese. Each time they were translated, they became more difficult to understand and lost important meaning.)

私たちが知っている限り、これはパウロがエペソ人へ書き送った唯一の手紙ですが、この町の会員に彼が書いたのは少なくとも2回はあります。(エペソ3:3参照) 使徒たちが様々な教会員に書いた手紙は今日の総大会の話しによく似ています。残念ながら、使徒たちが書いた多くの手紙のうちのほんの一部しか残っていません。それらの手紙でさえへブル語やギリシャ語からラテン語、そして英語や日本語に何度も翻訳され、その度に理解が難しくなり、重要な意味が失われていきました。

In this scripture, Paul teaches the members of the Church in Ephesus about the great work that will take place in the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times.  Paul tells us that the Lord will “make known unto us the great mystery of his will”. In other words, there will be revelation again. The Lord will reveal his will to his chosen apostles and prophets.

この聖句ではパウロはエペソの教会員に時満ちる神権時代に大いなる業が行われると教えています。パウロが主が「み旨の奥義を、わたしたちに示して下さる」と述べています。つまり再び啓示が与えられるのです。主が選ばれた使徒と預言者に主のみ旨が示されるのです。

We are living in that great dispensation.  We are participants in the great gathering that Paul foretold.  We see this prophecy being fulfilled during every General Conference.

私たちはその大いなる神権時代に生きています。私たちはパウロが預言した大いなる集合の参加者です。すべての総大会からこの預言が成就していることを私たちは目にしています。

Paul taught the members of the Church in Ephesus that in the latter days, the Lord will “gather together in one all things”.

パウロはエペソの教会員に末の日に主は「一つに帰せしめようとされる」ことを教えました。

This is happening before our own eyes.  We see the work of the gathering of Israel moving forward faster than ever.  President Nelson has challenged the youth of the Church to be an active part of this great work.  Given that President Nelson is 95 years old, we are all included in the category of “youth”.  

私たちはこれを目の当たりにしています。私たちはイスラエルの集合の業がこれまで以上に速く進んでいるのが分かります。ネルソン大管長は教会の若人がこの大いなる業に活発に関わるように変更されました。ネルソン大管長が95歳であると考えるとすれば私たちは全員「若人」の部類に含まれます。

Paul tells us that during the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times, things which are in heaven will be joined with things which are on earth.  In some ways, this points to the great work being done in the Temples of the Lord. The priesthood keys relating to the work for the dead and for the sealing of families for eternity have been restored to the earth during this dispensation through God’s prophet, Joseph Smith.

パウロは時満ちる神権時代に、天にあるものが地上のものとひとつとなると語っています。これは主の神殿で行われる大いなる業のことも示しています。神の預言者ジョセフ・スミスを通してこの神権時代に死者や家族を永遠に結び固めるための業に関わる神権の鍵が地上に回復されました。

In this way, those who are in heaven and those who are on earth can work together to bring about the salvation of all of God’s children.  No one is left out. No one is excluded. No one ineligible for the blessings of salvation.

このようにして、天にいる者も地上にいる者も神のすべての子供たちの救いをもたらすために共に働くことができます。誰も取り残されていませんし、誰も除外されていません。救いの祝福を受ける資格のない人はいません。

As the Lord continues to reveal “the mystery of his will” to his chosen apostles and prophets, we will see many more things restored to the earth.  It is an exciting time to be alive. It is wonderful to see this ancient prophecy of one of the Lord’s apostles being fulfilled. It is wonderful to see how the Lord reveals to his prophet the things that need to be done to help save all of God’s children.

主が選ばれた使徒と預言者に「み旨の奥義」を明らかにし続けると、私たちはさらに多くの事が地上に回復されるのを見るでしょう。私たちは興奮する時に生きています。この古代のひとりの主の使徒の預言が成就するのを目にするのは素晴らしいことです。主が主の預言者に神のすべての子供たちが救われるのにすべき必要な全ての事をどのようして明らかにされるのか目にするのは素晴らしいことです。

As we go through this next week, let’s remember that this work is not something new.  It is not something that started with the Prophet Joseph Smith. The gospel has been unchanged since the days of Adam.  The Prophet Joseph Smith did restore the gospel and the priesthood keys necessary for the work of salvation to move forward in this last great dispensation.  Let’s remember that the gospel is eternal. Let’s do our part to gather scattered Israel.

来週を過ごすとき、この業は取り立てて新しいことではないことを覚えていましょう。それはジョセフ・スミスから始まったことではありません。福音はアダムの時代から変わっていません。預言者ジョセフ・スミスはこの大いなる神権時代に救いの業が前進するために必要な福音と神権の鍵を回復しました。福音は永遠であることを忘れないようにしましょう。散乱したイスラエルを集合するために私たちがなすべきことを行いましょう。
