それゆえ、今や人は皆、自分の義務を学び、任命されている職務をまったく勤勉に遂行するようにしなさい。怠惰な者は、その職にいるにふさわしい者と見なされない。また、自分の義務を学ばず、認められるに足る者であることを示さない者は、その職にいるにふさわしい者と見なされない。まことにそのとおりである。アーメン。教義と聖約１０７：９９－１００
Wherefore, now let every man learn his duty, and to act in the office in which he is appointed, with all diligence. He that is slothful shall not be counted worthy to stand, and he that learns not his duty and shows himself not approved shall not be counted worthy to stand. Even so, Amen. Doctrine and Covenants 107:99-100
In this scripture, we are taught about our duty in the Church and what the Lord expects us to do.
この聖句は私たちの教会での義務と主が私たちに期待しておられることについて教えています。
In many Christian churches, the people come to church on Sunday, listen to a sermon, then go home. They don’t have any responsibility. They are like the Zoramites that Alma tells us about in Alma 31:23.
多くのキリスト教会では日曜日に教会に行き、説教を聞きそして家に帰ります。彼らはアルマ書の教えたゾーラム人（アルマ書31:23）のように（通常）責任を持っていません。
In the Church of God, we all have responsibilities. We all have duties. We all have callings to serve.
神の教会では皆が責任を持っています。私たちは皆、務めや奉仕すべき召しを持っています。
Some of our callings are simple. Some of our callings are difficult. Some of our callings take lots of time.
召しのいくつかは簡単なものだったり、またいくつかは難しくたくさんの時間を要します。
It does not matter what our calling is. If our only assignment is the home teach a family, or to teach a Primary class, or to lead the music in Relief Society, we are expected to do our best to serve in that calling.
私たちがどの召しを受けているかということは重要ではありません。責任が家族をホームティーチングすることや初等教会のクラスで教えること、扶助教会で音楽の指揮をすることであっても、私たちは最善を尽くしてその召しを果たすよう期待されています。
The most important calling in the Church is the calling that we have right now. That is the calling that the Lord has given us. That is the calling that we need to serve in “with all diligence.”
教会で最も大切な召しとは「今現在受けている召し」なのです。それは主が私たちに与えてくださった召しなのです。私たちは「まったく勤勉に」遂行すべき召しなのです。
In the Church, we do not ask for callings. We are given opportunities to serve and we accept them when they come to us.
教会では私たちから召しを求めることはしません。奉仕の機会が与えられそれが来るとき受け入れるのです。
It is not important which calling we have. The only thing that is important is how we serve in that calling.
どの召しを受けているかは重要ではありません。唯一重要なのはその召しをどのように遂行するかです。
We need to remember why we are serving. We have been called to be “the hands of the Lord” in helping to strengthen the testimonies of his children.
私たちはどうして奉仕するのか思い起こす必要があります。私たちは神の子供たちの証を強める助けをするために「主の御手」として召されているのです。
The Lord blesses us for our faithful service. He does not care what our calling is. Every calling is important to him. He only cares that we are doing our best to serve him.
主は私たちがどんな召しを受けているかに関係なく、ただ忠実な奉仕の故に祝福されます。主の前にはすべての召しが重要なのです。最善を尽くして主に尽くしているかだけを見られます。
I know that if we do our best, the Lord will bless us. He will guide us in our callings. He will help us to be successful in serving others.
最善を尽くせば主が私たちを祝福してくださると知っています。私たちの召しを導いてくださいます。他の誰かに奉仕、仕えるとき成功するように助けてくださいます。
I know that we can each receive great blessings even from callings that seem to us to be unimportant or insignificant. I know that as we “learn our duty” and serve “with all diligence”, we will receive all the promised blessings.
私は重要でないとか取るに足りないように見える召しからでも偉大な祝福を受けことを知っています。私は「自分の義務を学び」「まったく勤勉に」務めるとき約束された全ての祝福を受けることを知っています。
May we work hard this week to learn our duty. May we work hard to serve with diligence. May we remember who it is we are serving. May we not be one of those who are slothful, but instead, be one of those who understands their duty and works hard to fulfil it.
今週も自分の義務を学ぶよう一生懸命頑張りましょう。熱心に奉仕しましょう。誰に仕えているのか思い起こしましょう。怠け者にならず自分の義務を理解し、それを遂行するよう一生懸命働きましょう。,
