イエスはその人に言われた「きつねには穴があり、空の鳥には巣がある。しかし、人の子にはまくらする所がない」。マタイ書８：２０
And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. Matthew 8:20
There are several lessons that come from this scripture.
この聖句から学べることが幾つかあります。
One lesson we can learn is about the great importance of the Savior’s mortal ministry. Jesus Christ is the creator of heaven and earth. He made all things. He is our eternal king. Yet, when he came to earth, he had nothing.
まずこの死すべき現世での救い主の務めの重要性について教えています。イエス・キリストは天と地の創造主であり、全てものを作られました。永遠の王であられます。しかしキリストがこの地上に来られた時は何一つ持っておられませんでした。
He should have had the most expensive, the most elegant, the most beautiful palace to live in. But he came as a poor child, born in a stable. He suffered hunger and thirst. He was tired. He worked hard. His only purpose here was to bring salvation to our souls. Material things were of no importance to him.
主は最も高価で優雅な美しい宮殿に住むことができたはずです。しかし主は馬小屋でお生まれになり貧しい子供としてこの世に来られました。空腹や喉の渇きに苦しまれ疲れることもありました。そして熱心に働かれました。キリストのこの地上における唯一の目的は私たちの霊の救いでした。物質的なことは全く重要ではありませんでした。
We should follow the example of our Savior. That does not mean that we should give up our houses, our cars, or other material things. But it does mean that we should make the first priority in our lives to help others gain a testimony of the gospel.
私たちは救い主の模範に従うべきです。と言っても家や車その他の物質的なものを捨てなさいということではありません。けれど私たちは他の人の福音への証が強まるように助けることを生活の中で最優先すべきだということです。
We have material things for a while, in this life. But we are told in the Doctrine and Covenants, that if we bring just one soul unto Christ, “how great will be your joy”. Our focus in life should be on bringing the gospel to others, in helping to strengthen testimonies, and in serving others.
私たちはこの世で物質的なものをしばらくの間、所有します。しかし教義と誓約の中で私たちが一人でもキリストにその魂を導いたら「あなたの喜びはいかばかりなり」と言われています。人生で私たちがいつも考えねばならない事は人に福音を伝えること、証を強めるよう助けること、そして人に仕えることです。
Another lesson is about the great blessings of the Temple.
他にこの聖句から学べることは神殿の大いなる祝福についてです。
The Temple is the House of the Lord. It is a place where the Savior can come. It is a place where the Son of man can “lay his head”.
神殿は主の宮です。そこは救い主が来られる場所なのです。そこは人の子が「枕する」場所なのです。
For centuries, there was no place on the earth where the Lord could come to. It is only in these last days that Temples have again appeared on the earth. And, unlike in past dispensations, it is not just one Temple. We now have about 150 Temples, scattered all across the earth.
何世紀にも渡り、主が訪れることの出来る場所はこの地上にはありませんでした。そしてやっとこの末日に再び神殿が建てられたのです。過去の時代と違い神殿の数は一つではないのです。現在、世界の至るところに150程の神殿があります。
As we attend the Temple, we are able to be in a place where the Lord is. We are able to feel of his Spirit. We are able to receive instructions and guidance from the Holy Ghost. We are able to be where the Son of man can “lay his head”.
神殿に参入する時、主が居られる同じ場所に私たちも居るのです。そこで主の御霊を感じることが出来ます。聖霊を通して指示や導きを受けられます。「人の子が枕する」場所に居ることができるのです。
Do you want to feel closer to the Savior? Attend the Temple. Do you want more help and guidance in your life? Attend the Temple. Do you want to receive direction from the Holy Ghost? Attend the Temple.
主をより近くに感じたいですか？神殿に参入してください。あなたの人生にもっと助けや導きが欲しいですか？神殿に参入してください。聖霊を通して進むべき方向を教えてもらいたいですか？神殿に参入してください。
Let’s try harder this week to follow the example of Jesus Christ. Let’s try harder to find opportunities to share the gospel with the people that we meet. Let’s try harder to help others receive stronger testimonies. And most importantly, let’s try harder to attend the Temple as often as we can.
イエス・キリストの模範に従うよう今週、もっと努力しましょう。私たちの出会う人に福音を分かち合う機会をすすんで探しましょう。誰かの証が強まるよう頑張って助けましょう。そして何よりも神殿に出来る限り参入しましょう。
I know that if we do these things, we will have joy in this life and in the life to come. I know that we have a responsibility to share the gospel with others. I know that great blessings come in to our lives as we serve in the Temple. Great miracles happen as we serve in the Temple.
これらを行なうときこの世と来るべき世において喜びを受けることを私は知っています。私たちには福音を分かち合う責任があることを私は知っています。神殿で奉仕するとき素晴らしい祝福が私たちの生活にやってくることを知っています。神殿で奉仕することで大きな奇跡が起こるのです。
