…and they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?  He is not here, but is risen. (Luke 24:5-6)

He is risen!  He is risen!                Tell it out with joyful voice.

He has burst his three days’ prison;Let the whole wide world rejoice.

Death is conquered; man is free     Christ has won the victory.

(Hymnbook # 199)

Today, the world celebrates Easter.  This is to remember the great Atonement made by our Savior Jesus Christ. It is the most important event in all eternity.  It is the basis for the Gospel.

Without the Atonement, there is no redemption.  Without the Atonement, there is no forgiveness.  Without the Atonement, there is no eternal life with happiness.

With the Atonement, there is redemption.  With the Atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins and failings.  With the Atonement, we can return and live again with our heavenly parents and families.  With the Atonement, there is HOPE!

The Atonement is a free gift to us from our loving Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.  But it is up to us to use it.  It is up to us to have faith.  It is up to us to repent of our sins.  It is up to us to keep the commandments.  If we do the best we can with what we have, we know that we will receive all the blessings of eternal life.

Let us show our gratitude for the Atonement by thanking Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ in our prayers.  Let us show our gratitude by keeping the commandments.  Let us show our gratitude by helping others to find the joy of the Gospel.

Let’s all work hard this week to make this the best week yet!   がんばって!
