And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation. Doctrine & Covenants 68:4
Next weekend, we will once again have the opportunity to hear from prophets and apostles. We will have the opportunity to hear inspired counsel from the Lord’s chosen leaders. We will have the opportunity to hear the word of the Lord.
来週末は再び予言者や使徒からお話を聞く機会があります。主に選ばれた指導者より霊感あふれる勧告を聞く機会、つまり主のみ言葉を聞く機会があります。
What a great blessing this is!
何と素晴らしい祝福でしょう。
What a blessing it is to be able to hear from those individuals whom the Lord has called to lead us and to teach us. What a blessing it is to know that we will receive truth and wisdom.
主が私たちを導き教えるために召された人々から聴けるのは何という祝福でしょう。真理と知恵を授かるのです。何という祝福でしょう？
We are taught in this scripture that the messages that we will receive during General Conference will be the word of the Lord. These will be the same messages that the Lord would teach us if he were here among us. These messages will be the “voice of the Lord” for us, to teach us the things that we need to know.
私たちは総大会で受けるメッセージは主のみ言葉であるとこの聖句は教えています。それはまさに主が私たちの中にいらっしゃれば教えられるであろうメッセージなのです。それらのメッセージは私たちが知るべきで事柄を教えられる「主の声」なのです。
General Conference weekend is one of my most favorite times of year. It is truly a miracle that we can sit comfortably in our own homes or in our Stake Centers and still participate in every session of the Conference. We can listen to the Conference in English, or in Japanese, or in almost 100 other languages. Is this not a miracle?
総大会の週末は一年の中で私の最も好きな時間です。自宅やステークセンターで快適に腰かけながら大会の全てのセッションに参加することが出来るのはまさに奇跡のようです。私たちは大会を英語や日本語、その他１００以上の言語で聴くことが出来ます。奇跡ではありませんか？
This will be a very special Conference. We will once again have the opportunity to stand as members of the Church to sustain a new president and prophet. We will be able to stand as quorums, as groups, or as members, and express our belief that Russell M. Nelson is the man the Lord has chosen to be the President of the Church.
今回はとても特別な大会です。私たちは再び教会の会員として新しい大管長であり預言者を支持する機会があるのです。私たちはラッセルM ネルソンが教会の大管長として主に選ばれた方であることを定員会として、グループとして、また会員として私たちの信仰を表すことができます。
How should we treat this opportunity to hear from prophets and apostles?
預言者や使徒から聴くこの機会をどう受け止めるべきでしょう？
Do we believe that those men are called of God? Do we believe that the Holy Ghost will direct their thoughts and words? Do we believe that they will teach us the “will of the Lord”?
彼らが神に召された者であると信じますか？聖霊が彼らの思いと言葉を導かれると信じますか？彼らが「主のみ旨」を私たちに教えてくれると信じますか？
If we believe those things, we will do all that we can to be able to participate in as many sessions of the Conference as is possible for us in our own circumstances. We will plan and prepare ahead of time.
それを信じるならば私たちは状況の許す限り、できだけ多く総大会のセッションに参加するよう最善を尽くすことでしょう。前もって計画、準備をすることでしょう。
And, after the Conference is over, we will read and study the messages in the General Conference issue of the Ensign and Liahona. We will treat those messages as scripture. We will treat those messages as the word of the Lord.
そして大会が終了してもEnsign やリアホナの総大会の記事からメッセージを読んで学びます。私たちはそのメッセージを聖典として受け止めます。私たちはそのメッセージを主のみ言葉として大切に受け止めます。
I know that participating in General Conference is a great blessing. I look forward to hearing the messages that will be shared. I look forward to being taught by prophets, apostles, and other inspired leaders. I look forward to learning what the Lord wants me to know now.
私は総大会に参加することが素晴らしい祝福だと理解しています。大会で語られるメッセージを聴くのを楽しみにしています。預言者や使徒、ほか霊感を受けた指導者たちから教わることを楽しみにしています。主が今私に知って欲しいことを学べるので楽しみにしています。
