この死すべき体は不死をまとい、この朽ちるものは朽ちないものをまとって、神の法廷に立つように連れ出され、自分の行いが善いか悪いか、その行いに応じて神に裁かれる。アルマ書１６：１０

Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption, and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evil.  Mosiah 16:10

Alma was one of the greatest prophets in The Book of Mormon.  He served as the High Priest of the Church and as the Chief Judge of the people.  He was a great missionary and brought the gospel to many people.

アルマはモルモン書の偉大な預言者のひとりでした。彼は教会の大祭司や民の大さばきつかさとして仕え、立派な宣教師であり多くの人を福音に導きました。

But, in his younger days, Alma was a very wicked man.  He and the sons of Mosiah went about trying to destroy the Church.  They committed many sins. It says that they were the “very vilest of sinners”.

しかし、若いころのアルマは邪悪な人でした。彼とモーサヤの息子たちは出て行き、教会を滅ぼそうとしました。彼らは多くの罪を犯し、「罪人​の​中​で​も​最も​罪深い​者」だったと言われています。

Through the prayers of his faithful father, Alma had a great spiritual experience.  He sincerely repented of the things that he had done. He confessed his sins and told the people that he had been converted to the Lord.  For the rest of his life, Alma served the Lord.

忠実な父親の祈りを通してアルマは大きい霊的な経験を受けました。彼は自分の犯してきた罪を心から悔い改めました。罪を克服し、主に改宗したことを人々に話しました。それ以来、アルマは主に仕えてきました。

In explaining to the people about his conversion, he tells them some of the things that he has learned.  He tells them about the Savior, Jesus Christ, and about the resurrection of the dead.

人々へ彼の改宗について説明する中で、彼は幾つかの学んだ事柄を述べています。彼はイエス・キリストと死者の復活について彼らに話しています。

He also teaches the people about what will happen in the future.  He teaches them that everyone will be required to stand before the judgement bar and be judged by God.

彼はまた将来起こることについて人々に教えています。すべての人が裁きの場に立ち、神の裁きを受けねばならないことを人々に教えています。

This is something that will happen to every person who has ever lived on the earth.  It will happen to you and to me. No one is exempt.  

このことは、この地上に生きたすべての人におこります。私にもあなたにも起こることです。誰も例外ではありません。

There are many people in the world who do not believe this.  They think that whatever they do is okay. They do not believe that there are any consequences to their actions.  

世の中にはこのことを信じない人が多くいます。彼らは何をしてもよいと考えます。彼らは自分の行いに対し何の報いや責任も無いと信じています。

This is one of Satan’s tricks.  He tricks them into believing that it is okay to commit sin.  He tricks them into believing that if no one sees them commit sin, no one will ever know about it.  He tricks them into believing that they can find happiness in wickedness.

これはサタンの罠のひとつです。彼は罪を犯してもよいと人々を騙します。彼は誰も見ていなければ罪を犯してもよいし、誰にも見つからないと信じ込ませます。彼は悪事の中にも幸福を見つけれると信じ込ませます。

We know that this is not true.  We know that we will be held accountable for everything that we do in this life.  We know that “wickedness never was happiness”. We know that we will all stand before God at some point in the future, and report on our actions here.

私たちはそれが間違いだと知っています。私たちはこの人生での行動のすべてに責任を負わねばならないことを知っています。私たちは「悪事は決して幸福を生じたことがない」と知っています。私たちは将来いつの日か神のみ前に立ち、現世での行いを報告することになると知っています。

We all commit sins.  We all make mistakes.  We all make bad decisions.  

私たちは皆、罪を犯します。誰もが間違いを犯し、悪い判断をすることがあります。

But through the great Atonement of our Savior, we can repent.  We can become clean. We can erase those sins.  

しかし、救い主の贖いを通して私たちは悔い改めることが出来ます。私たちは聖くなれます。犯した罪を消し去ることが出来ます。

Now is the time to repent.  Now is the time to eliminate those things in our lives that are not right.  Now is the time to prepare to meet God.

今が悔い改める時です。今が生活の中で良くないことを排除する時です。今が神に会う用意をする時です。

As we go through this next week, let’s think about that final judgement.  Let’s repent of our sins. Let’s choose to keep the commandments. Let’s be better followers of Jesus Christ.

新しい週がこれから始まりますが、最後の裁きについて考え、罪を悔い改め、戒めを守って過ごしましょう。イエス・キリストのより良い従者となりましょう。
