さて、あなたがたはこれを受けた後、すべてのことについてわたしの戒めを守らなければならない。あなたがたの手によって、わたしは人の子らの中に驚くべき業を行い、彼らの多くに罪のあることを自覚させ、彼らが悔い改めて、わたしの父の王国に来られるようにしよう。わたしがあなたがたに与える祝福は、すべてのものに勝っている。教義と聖約１８：４３－４５
And now, after that you have received this, you must keep my commandments in all things; And by your hands I will work a marvelous work among the children of men, unto the convincing many of their sins, that they may come unto repentance, and that they may come unto the kingdom of my Father. Wherefore, the blessings which I give unto you are above all things. Doctrine and Covenants 18:43-45
There are four important points made in this short scripture that we need to study.
この短い聖句には私たちが学ぶべきことが四つあります。
First, once we have been taught the gospel and have learned about the commandments of God, we must keep all the commandments. Not just some of the commandments. Not just the easy or convenient commandments. All the commandments.
最初に、福音を教えられ神の戒めを学んだら、私たちはそのすべての戒めを守らねばなりません。戒めの幾つかだけとか簡単な戒めだけでなく、全ての戒めをです。
In this scripture, the Lord says, “you must keep my commandments in all things”. This is very plain and very clear. There are no exceptions. There are no special situations. There are no options.
この聖句で主は「すべてのことについてわたしの戒めを守らなければならない」と言っておられます。とても明瞭でわかりやすい教えです。例外や特別な事情などありませんし、選択のオプションもありません。
In the next sentence, the Lord explains more about our duties as members of the Church. The Lord says, “by your hands I will work a marvelous work among the children of men”. In other words, we have a duty to be the Lord’s “hands” in this great work.
次の文で私たちの教会の会員としての義務について主は説明しておられます。主は「あなたがたの手によって、わたしは人の子らの中に驚くべき業を行う」と言われています。言い換えるならこの偉大な業において私たちは主の「手」であるということです。
He needs “hands” who keep his commandments. He needs “hands” who are willing to serve. He needs “hands” who are willing to work.
主は主の戒めを守る者の「手」が必要なのです。主は奉仕したいと願う者や働きたいと願う者の「手」が必要なのです。
And as the Lord’s “hands”, what are we trying to do?
主の「手」として私たちは何をしようと努めているのでしょう？
We are trying to help others learn about the gospel. We are trying to help others to have faith and to repent of their sins. We are trying to help them receive all the blessings that we enjoy.
私たちは他の誰かが福音を学ぶ手助けをしようとしています。私たちは他の誰かが信仰を持ち罪を悔い改める手助けをしようとしています。私たちが喜びを感じている全ての祝福を彼らも受ける手助けをしようとしています。
If we work hard as the Lord’s “hands”, we will help others to “come unto the kingdom of my Father”. We are told in verse 15 of this Section that if we labor all our days and bring just one soul into the gospel, how great will be our joy!
主の「手」として熱心に働くことは、他の誰かが「わたしの父の王国に来る」手助けをすることなのです。この章の15 節で私たちは次のように言われています。この民に悔い改めを叫ぶことに生涯力を尽くし、一人でもわたしのもとに導くならば私たちの受ける喜びはいかに大きいことかと。
Finally, in the last sentence, we are given a great promise. We are taught that the blessings that we will receive from the Lord are “above all things”. This means that those blessings are greater than anything else we can receive in this life. Those blessings are greater than money or fame. They are the greatest gifts from the Lord.
最後に、主は偉大な祝福を終わりの文節で私たちに約束しておられます。私たちが受ける祝福は「すべてのものに勝っている」と教えられています。それは私たちがこの世で受けるどのような祝福にも勝っているということです。それらの祝福は金銭や名声にも勝るもので、主からの最も偉大な贈り物なのです。
Let’s try hard this week to be the Lord’s “hands” in all things. Let’s be worthy to be the Lord’s “hands” by keeping all the commandments. Let’s be cheerful and happy as we serve, so we can show others how much we love the Lord and his gospel. Let’s help others come unto the kingdom of God.
今週、すべてのことにおいて主の「手」として努めてみましょう。すべての戒めを守ることで主の「手」としてふさわしくいましょう。明るく、またうれしい気持ちで仕えましょう。そうすれば他の人は私たちがどれ程、主と福音を愛しているのかわかるでしょう。他の人が神の王国に来る手助けをしましょう。
I know that we can do these things. I know that we have a great responsibility in this life to be the Lord’s “hands”. I know that the blessings we will receive will be “above all things”.
私たちにはそれが出来ることを知っています。私たちはこの世で主の「手」であるという大きな責任を受けていることを知っています。私たちが受ける祝福は「全てのものに勝っている」ことを私は知っています。
