神が人の子らの中で奇跡を行うのをやめられるのは、彼らが不信仰に陥り、正しい道から離れ、頼るべき神を知らないためである。モルモン章９：２０
And the reason why he ceaseth to do miracles among the children of men is because that they dwindle in unbelief, and depart from the right way, and know not the God in whom they should trust. Mormon 9:20
In the last chapter of Mormon, his son Moroni gives us an important scripture.
モルモン書最後の章で息子モロナイは大切な聖句を私たちに残しています。
Many in the world, and even in the Church, think that God does not answer prayers. They say they have been good people, but they still have big trials. They say that they do not receive the answers to their prayers.
世の中や教会内ですら多くの人が神は祈りに答えられないと考えています。彼らは善良な人々が大きな試練を受けていると言ったり、祈りが答えられないと言います。
Moroni explains why it sometimes seems like we are not receiving answers to our prayers.
モロナイは何故私たちの祈りが時々答えられないように感じるのか説明しています。
We are taught in the Doctrine & Covenants Section 130 that when we receive a blessing, it is because we were obedient to the law for that blessing.
私たちは祝福を受けるのは、その祝福の法則に忠実であるからであると教義と聖約130章で教わっています。
Before we can receive any blessing, we must first show our faith in the Lord. We must do our best to keep the commandments. We must repent.
どのような祝福でも受ける前にまず主への信仰を示す必要があります。最善を尽くして戒めを守る必要があります。悔い改める必要があります。
Without faith, we cannot receive blessings. Faith requires us to act. Faith requires us to show our love for Heavenly Father. Faith requires us to keep the commandments.
信仰なしに私たちは祝福を受けられません。信仰には行動が要求されます。信仰には天父への愛を示すことが要求されます。信仰には戒めを守ることが要求されます。
As we have faith, as we take action to improve, as we keep the commandments, the blessings from heaven will surely come. The Lord always keeps his promises.
信仰を持つとき、行動を改善するとき、そして戒めを守る時、天よりの祝福は確かにやってきます。主は常に約束を守ってくださいます。
Of course, all things happen on the Lord’s time. Even though we want the blessings immediately, there may be reasons why the Lord waits to give us the blessings.
もちろん全ての事は主の時期に起こります。私たちはすぐに祝福が欲しいと思いますが主が待ってから祝福を与えられるのには理由があるのです。
There may be things that we need to learn. There may be things that we need to experience. There may be things that we need to change in our own lives. But the promised blessings will come when the time is right.
そこには私たちが学ぶべき事柄があるのかもしれません。私たちが経験すべき事柄があるのかもしれません。私たちが生活の中で変えなければならない事柄があるのかもしれません。けれども約束された祝福は適切な時にやってきます。
Do you want miracles in your life? Moroni tells us how that can happen.
あなたは人生で奇跡を見たいですか？モロナイはどのようにそれが起こるのか教えています。
Moroni teaches us that we must have faith, that we must keep the commandments, that we must follow the instructions of the Lord.
モロナイは信仰を持たねばならないこと、戒めを守らねばならないこと、主の教えに従わねばならないことを私たちに教えています。
For example, President Nelson has announced many new and important changes to our previous Sunday schedule. Meeting times have been shortened to give us more time to study and learn together as individuals and as families. Will we follow the counsel of the Prophet?
例えばネルソン大管長が今までの日曜日のスケジュールに多くの新しい大切な変更を発表されました。集会の時間が短縮され、より多くの時間を個人や家族と共に福音を学び研究するようにというものです。あなたは預言者のその勧告に従いますか？
It will probably take time for us to learn how to use our Sunday study time effectively. But if we are doing our best to follow the word of the Lord as given through his prophet, miracles will come into our lives.
日曜日の福音勉強時間を効果的に使えるようになるには時間がかかるかもしれません。しかし主の言葉に従おうと最善を尽くしていれば預言者が教えているように奇跡は私たちの日々の生活に現れます。
Just like Family Home Evening, every Sunday may not be a great spiritual experience. What is important is that we keep trying.
家庭の夕べのようにすべての日曜日が最高の霊的な経験であるとは限りません。大切なのは私たちが諦めず続けることなのです。
We need to pray for guidance. We need to listen for the promptings of the Spirit. We need to follow those promptings. As we do so, miracles will happen.
導きを求めて祈る必要があります。御霊の促しを聞く必要があります。その促しに聞き従う必要があります。そうするときに奇跡は起こります。
As we go through this next week, let’s do our part to have miracles happen in our own lives. If we go forward with faith, miracles will happen. If we stay on the covenant path, miracles will happen. If we follow the counsel of the Lord, miracles will happen.
自分の人生で奇跡を起こしたければ自分のすべきことを行い今週を過ごしましょう。信仰をもって前進するとき奇跡が起こるでしょう。誓約の道にとどまっているとき奇跡が起こるでしょう。主の勧告に従うとき奇跡が起こるでしょう。
