わたしを主よ、主よ、と呼びながらなぜわたしの言うことを行わないのか。ルカ６：４６

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things I say?  Luke 6:46

This short scripture was given by the Lord in the Sermon on the Mount.   It is a simple scripture, but it asks a very powerful question.

この短い聖句は主が山上の垂訓で述べられたものです。シンプルですが非常に力強い問かけです。

How will you answer that question?  

あなたはこの問にどう答えますか？

The Lord has given us commandments.  If we follow the commandments, we are told that we will receive blessings.  

主は私たちに戒めをくださいました。もしその戒めに従うなら私たちは祝福を受けると教えられました。

The commandments are simple.  None of them are hard to understand.  

戒めはどれも簡単で理解しやすいものです。

Pray always.  Study the scriptures every day.  Attend your Church meetings.  

いつも祈りなさい。毎日聖典を学びなさい。教会の集会に出席しなさい。

Serve in your callings.  Help others.  Be a good example.  

あなたの責任を果たしなさい。他の人を助けなさい。良い模範になりなさい。

Honor the Sabbath.  Pay your tithing.  Attend the Temple.  

安息日を敬いなさい。什分の一を収めなさい。神殿に参入しなさい。

Share the gospel with others.  Find your ancestors and take their names to the Temple.  

福音を他の誰かに分かち合いなさい。先祖を見つけ神殿に名前を提出しなさい。

None of these commandments are difficult.  None of these commandments are hard to understand.  None of these commandments are things that we cannot do.

これらのどの戒めも難しいものではありません。どの戒めも理解しにくいものではありませんし、どの戒めも実行できないものではありません。

Each Sunday, as we take the sacrament, we promise to take upon us the Savior’s name.  We promise to always remember him.  We promise to keep his commandments.  

毎日曜日、聖餐を取るとき私たちは主の名を引き受けることを約束します。主を常に覚えると約束します。主の戒めを守ると約束します。

Do we keep those promises?

私たちはこれらの約束を守りますか？

That is what the Lord asks us in the short scripture.  Do we do the things that we promise we will do?

これがこの短い聖句で主が私たちに要求されていることです。私たちが行うと約束した事をしていますか？

We are told that we will receive great blessings if we keep our promise.  We are told that we will always have his Spirit to be with us.  We are told that we will receive the guidance that we need in our lives.

私たちは約束を守れば大きな祝福を受けると言われてます。私たちは主の御霊と共にいることが出来、私たちの人生に必要な導きを受けると言われてます。

Let’s try hard this week to do the things that we promise we will do.  Let’s remember the Lord’s commandments.  Let’s obey the commandments.  Let’s be worthy to receive the blessings that we need.

今週私たちが行なうと約束したことを頑張ってしましょう。主の戒めを覚えていましょう。その戒めに従順でいましょう。私たちが必要な祝福を享受できるようふさわしくいましょう。

I know that if we keep our promises, the Lord will keep his promises.  I know that we can keep our sacrament promises.  I know this is the right thing to do.

私たちが約束を守れば主は約束を守られることを私は知っています。私たちが聖餐の約束を守れることを私は知っています。これが正しいことであると私は知っています。
