これによって分かるように、主は、真心から主の聖なる名を呼ぼうとするすべての人に憐れみをかけられる。まことに、これによって分かるように、天の門はすべての人に、言い換えれば、神の御子イエス・キリストの名を信じようとする人々に開かれているのである。ヒラマン章３：２７－２８
Thus we see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name. Yea, thus we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all, even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God. Helaman 3:27-28.
One of the great blessings of the gospel is the knowledge that it gives us that we are all children of our Heavenly Father. He knows and loves each one of us. He knows our trials and our burdens. He wants each one of us to be able to return and live with him.
福音のすばらしい祝福のひとつは私たちすべてが天父の子供であるという認識をもてることです。天父は私たち一人ひとりをご存知であり愛しておられます。天父は私たちの試練や重荷をもご存知です。私たち一人ひとりが天父のもとに戻り、いっしょに暮らせるよう望んでおられるのです。
From that small start in 1830, with just 6 members, the Church has grown into a world-wide organization with more than 15 million members. These members are found in almost every country around the world.
1830 年に会員わずか六名でスタートした教会は千五百万人を超える世界的な組織に成長しました。今や世界のいたるところで教会員に会うことができます。
No one is excluded. No one is turned away. No one is rejected.
誰ひとりとして拒まれることや締め出されること、また拒絶されることはないのです。
The gospel is for all of Heavenly Father’s children. The Savior told his disciples before he left them to take the gospel to the whole world. That same commandment was given to the Church in this last dispensation. Everyone, no matter where they live, needs to have an opportunity to hear the truths of the gospel.
福音はすべての天父の子供のためにあります。救い主が全世界に福音を携えて出かけられる前、そのように弟子たちに言われました。そして同じ戒めがこの最後の神権時代、教会を通して与えられました。たとえどこに住んでいようとすべての人が福音の真理を聞く機会がなくてはなりません。
We need to be careful not to exclude those who may be “different” than we are. Sometimes we judge other people by the way they look or by the way they are dressed. If they are “different” than we are, we sometimes think they are not worthy to hear the gospel.
私たちは自分と「違った」ものを拒まないないよう気をつけなければなりません。時折、私たちは見かけや服装で判断してしまいます。彼らが自分たちと「違っている」ので彼らは福音を聞くにはふさわしくないと時々思ってしまいます。
King Benjamin taught us that we are all “beggars”, begging the Lord for forgiveness of our sins. He taught us that we must not judge others. He taught us that we should freely share the great blessings of the gospel with everyone.
ベンジャミン王は私たちは皆「物乞い」だと教えています。罪の許しを主に請う「物乞い」だと。また他人を裁いてはならないとも教えました。また彼は福音の祝福を自由にだれとでも分かち合うよう教えました。
In this scripture, Helaman again teaches us that everyone has the opportunity to repent. He teaches us that everyone can receive the blessings of the gospel. He teaches us that everyone can receive mercy.
この聖句では、またヒラマンは誰もが悔い改める機会があると教えています。誰でも福音の祝福を受けることができると教えています。誰でも慈悲を受けることができると教えています。
The Lord reminds us in this scripture that he does not limit his blessings to just a few of his children. The blessings of the gospel are for everyone. The gift of Free Agency means that each of us can choose what we want to do. But unless we are taught about the gospel, we cannot make any choices.
主はこの聖句で祝福は限られたわずかな人だけのためではないと教えておられます。福音の祝福はすべての人のためにあります。選択の自由という賜物は私たちが各々したいことを選べるということです。しかし福音を教えられることなくどんな選択もできないのです。
May we work hard this week to remember that everyone we meet is another child of our Heavenly Father. May we remember that Heavenly Father loves even those who may be “different” than we are. May we make a greater effort to reach out to everyone and to help them understand the truths of the gospel. May we help each of them learn about and gain a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ.
今週も私たちの出会う人が天父のひとりの子供であると思えるよう頑張りましょう。天父は自分たちと「違った」ものをも愛しておられることを思い起こしましょう。頑張って誰にでも声をかけ彼らに福音の真理を理解できるようお手伝いしましょう。彼らが救い主イエスキリストについて学び、証を強めれるようお手伝いしましょう。‘
