キリストは言われた。「あなたがたはわたしを信じるならば、わたしの心にかなうことを何事でも行う力を持つであろう」と。モロナイ７：３３
And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me. Moroni 7:33
This scripture was given by Mormon and recorded by his son, Moroni. It contains a powerful message for each of us.
この聖句はモルモンによって与えられ息子モロナイによって記録されたものです。そこには私たち一人一人にとって力強いメッセージが含まれます。
We all know that this world is full of trials and difficulties. Some of the things we are asked to do seem very hard. There are many commandments. There are many assignments.
私たちの誰もがこの世には試練や困難が多くあることを知っています。私たちが行うべき幾つかの事柄は非常に難しいです。多くの戒めがあります。多くの責任もあります。
Sometimes, we are given a new calling that we feel we are not qualified to do. Maybe we are given the assignment to speak in a Sacrament meeting, or to teach the lesson in a Relief Society meeting, or to be the home teacher for a difficult family. We receive many assignments in the Church that often seem difficult or even impossible to accomplish.
時々私たちが受ける召しが自分には資格がないと感じることがあります。聖餐会でお話したり、扶助協会で教えたり、難しい家族のホームティーチャーになるといったような責任を受けるかもしれません。教会では時折難しくて達成不可能に思えるような多くの責任を受けます。
We also have many responsibilities on our own. We know that we should pray every day. We know that we should attend the Temple often. We know that we should work on our Family History and find our ancestors. We know that we should read the scriptures each day.
私たち自分自身も多くのすべきことがあります。私たちは毎日祈るべきだと知っています。神殿に頻繁に参入すべきとか自分の家族の歴史を探求し、先祖を見つけ出すべきだと知っています。毎日聖典を読むべきだと知っています。
It often seems like there is not enough time to do all those things. Our schedules are very busy. It is hard to find enough time to do all the things that we know we should do.
これらすべてを行うには時間が足りないように思うことがあります。私たちの日課はとても忙しいものです。すべきだとわかっていることをすべて行う時間を見つけるのは難しいものです。
Whatever our challenges are, whether they are callings we are given, or just trying to do the things that we know we should do, the Lord has promised us that he will help us.
私たちの問題が何であれ、与えられた召しが何であれ、すべきだと分かっていることを行ってみるだけでも、主は私たちを助けると約束してくださっています。
First and most importantly, we must have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation on which our testimonies are built.
最初で最も大切なことは、救い主イエス・キリストに信仰を持たねばならないということです。イエス・キリストへの信仰は私たちの証を築く基本（土台）です。
The Lord wants us to be happy in the life. This life is not a time for fear or depression. It is true that this is a time of testing, but that does not mean it should be a time of sorrow.
主は私たちに幸せな人生を望んでおられます。この世は恐怖や落胆のためではありません。この世は試しの時ではありますが、不幸の時だという意味ではありません。
All the Lord expects of us is for us to do our best. We cannot do everything, but we can do something. We are not expected to “run faster than we are able”, but we are expected to at least walk.
主が私たちに期待されてることはただ私たちが最善を尽くすことです。私たちはすべて行うことなどできません、しかし何かを行うことはできます。私たちは「能力以上に速く走る」ことは期待されていません、しかし少なくとも前に向かって歩くことは期待されています。
If we have faith in Jesus Christ and in his Atonement, we will have the power to do the things that the Lord wants us to do.
もしイエス・キリストとキリストの贖罪に信仰を持っていれば私たちは主が私たちに望んでおられることを行う力を授けてくださいます。
Having faith does not mean that there will no longer be any challenges or trials. It does not mean that every day will be a happy day. It does not mean that we will no longer have to work hard.
信仰を持つということは二度と問題や試練がないということではありません。毎日が幸せの日々だということでもありません。これから後、一生懸命働く必要がないということでもありません。
Having faith means that, in spite of our challenges, our trials, and our own weaknesses, we keep trying to do our best. We may not be able to accomplish everything that we want to accomplish, but we can accomplish some things. We can help others. We can say our prayers. We can read the Book of Mormon every day. We can serve in our callings.
信仰を持つということは困難や試練、弱さがあっても最善を尽くし続けるということです。達成したいことをすべて達成できないかもしれません、しかしそれでも何かを達成することはできます。お祈りをすることが出来ます。毎日モルモン書を読むことができます。自分の召しを果たすことができます。
As we do our best, our faith in Jesus Christ will grow stronger. As we do our best, our burdens will become lighter. As we do our best, we will have the power to accomplish the things the Lord asks us to do.
最善を尽くすとき私たちのイエス・キリストへの信仰は強くなります。最善を尽くすとき私たちの重荷は軽くなります。最善を尽くすとき主からの受けた使命を達成する力を持てます。
Our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ both love us very much. They want us to be happy. They want us to do our best. As we do our best, they will bless us and help us.
私たちの天父と救い主イエス・キリストは私たちをとても愛しておられます。私たちが幸せであることを望んでおられます。私たちに最善を尽くしてほしいと望んでおられます。最善を尽くすとき私たちは祝福と助けを受けるのです。
Let’s make sure this week that we do our best in all that we do. Do not let our own limitations and weaknesses be an excuse to not even try. Even our smallest efforts are noticed by the Lord and will bring great blessings.
全ての事について最善を尽くして今週を過ごしましょう。自分で限界を作ったり弱さを言い訳にして何もやってみようとしないことのないように。私たちのどんな小さな努力でも主は見ておられ大きな祝福を授けてくださいます。
