箴言は、ダビデ王の息子であるソロモンによって与えられた教訓、賢明なことわざ、および知識のコレクションです。今週はおもだったテーマがないため、箴言の教えと勧告のいくつかを強調するだけにとどめます。
The book of Proverbs is a collection of instructions, wise sayings, and knowledge given by Solomon, the son of king David. This week, since there is no central theme, we will simply highlight some of the teachings and counsel from the book of Proverbs.
箴言１：７
主を恐れることは知識のはじめである、愚かな者は知恵と教訓を軽んじる。
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
箴言３:５−６
心をつくして主に信頼せよ、自分の知識にたよってはならない。すべての道で主を認めよ、そうすれば、主はあなたの道をまっすぐにされる。
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
箴言３:７−８
自分を見て賢いと思ってはならない、主を恐れて、悪を離れよ。そうすれば、あなたの身を健やかにし、あなたの骨に元気を与える。
Proverbs 3:7-8
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones.
箴言３:９−１０
あなたの財産と、すべての産物の初なりをもって主をあがめよ。そうすれば、あなたの倉は満ちて余り、あなたの酒ぶねは新し酒であふれる。
Proverbs 3:9-10
Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and the presses shall burst out with new wine.
箴言4:7
知恵の初めはこれである、知恵を得よ、あなたが何を得るにしても、悟りを得よ。
Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and will all thy getting, get understanding
箴言１５：１
柔かい答えは憤りをとどめ、激しい言葉は怒りを引き起こす。
Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
箴言１５：１６
少しの物を所有して主を恐るのは、多くの宝をもって苦労するのにまさる。
Proverbs 15:16
Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.
箴言１６：１８
高ぶりは滅びにさきだち、誇る心は倒れにさきだつ。
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
箴言１６：３２
怒りをおそくする者は勇士にまさり、自分の心を治める者は城を攻め取る者にまさる。
Proverbs 16:32
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
箴言２２：６
子をその行くべき道に従って教えよ、そうすれば年老いても、それを離れることがない。
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
箴言２３：２２
あなたを生んだ父のいうことを聞き、年老いた母を軽んじてはならない。
Proverbs 23:22
Harken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.
As we go through this next week, let’s remember the words and counsel given in the book of Proverbs. Even though they were given several thousand years ago, they are still true today. If we follow the counsel and teachings found in the book of Proverbs, we will be better able to keep the commandments of the Lord. We will be happier. We will be better followers of the Savior Jesus Christ.
新しい週が始まります。箴言の言葉と勧告を心に留めて過ごしましょう。数千年前に与えられたものですが、今日においてもその教えは確かなものです。箴言の勧告と教えに従うなら，主の戒めをよりよく守ることができます。私たちは更に幸せになり、救い主イエス・キリストのより良い従者となるでしょう。
