Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils; ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table and the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21

In this verse, the Apostle Paul teaches us the same lesson that has been taught by prophets throughout the ages, including our own dispensation.
これは、主の従者であると同時にサタンの従者になることはできないというメッセージです。
The message is, you cannot be a follower the Lord and a follower of Satan at the same time.
モルモン書の中で、救い主は「神と富とに兼ね仕えることはできない」（3ニーファイ13:24）と教えておられます。
In the Book of Mormon, the Savior taught us that “ye cannot serve God and Mammon” (3 Nephi 13:24).
黙示録の中で、ヨハネはラオデキヤの聖徒たちにこう書くように指示されました。「熱くもなく、冷たくもなく、なまぬるいので、あなたを口から吐き出そう」。（ヨハネの黙示録 3:16）
In the Book of Revelations, John is instructed to write to the Saints a Laodoica “So then because thou are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew ye out of my mouth (Rev 3:16).

In a General Conference talk in the 1980’s, Elder Neal A. Maxwell of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said that some members of the Church want to follow the Lord, but they also want to “keep a summer house in Babylon”.

The Lord commanded us to “be perfect, even as I, or your Father who is in Heaven is perfect” (3 Nephi 12:48).
私たちは主の杯とサタンの杯の両方を飲むという罪を犯していませんか？
Are we guilty of drinking from both the Lord’s cup and Satan’s cup?
私たちは大きな罪を犯したことはないでしょうが、間違いは犯したことがあるでしょう。私たちは皆、「悪霊どもの食卓を共にした」経験があるでしょう。また比喩的な意味で「バビロンの別荘」で過ごしたことがあるでしょう。
It is unlikely that any of us have committed major sins, but we have all made mistakes. We have all been “partakers at the table of devils”. We have all spent time in that figurative “summer house in Babylon”.
私たちは毎週安息日に集会に出席していますか？召しを果たしていますか？時間と状況が許す限り、神殿に参入していますか？正直に什分の一を納めていますか？
Do we attend our meetings each Sabbath day? Do we serve in our callings? Do we attend the Temple as often and time and circumstances allow? Do we pay an honest tithe?
私たちは毎日聖典を学んでいますか？毎日祈りを捧げていますか？「わたしに従ってきなさい」のレッスンを学び、参加していますか？
Do we read from the scriptures each day? Do we say our prayers each day? Do we study and participate in the “Come, Follow Me” lessons?
私たちはイエス・キリストの真の従者の模範を示しているでしょうか？たとえ信条が異なっていても、出会った人々に親切にしているでしょうか？困っている人を裁くことなく、喜んで仕えているでしょうか？
Are we setting a good example of a true follower of Jesus Christ? Are we kind to those we meet, even if they are different in their beliefs? Are we willing to serve those in need without judging them?
たとえ誰も見ていないと思っても、戒めを守っているでしょうか？変人だと思われるような社会的環境の中でも戒めを守っていますか？どの戒めが「重要」であるかを選んで、気に入らない戒めを無視していないでしょうか？
Do we keep the commandments, even when we think no one is watching? Do we keep the commandments, even in a social setting where we might be looked upon as being strange? Do we pick and choose which commandments are “important” and ignore the commandment we don’t like?
聖約の道にとどまるということは、サタンの策略や誘惑をすべて拒否するということです。聖約の道にとどまるということは、サタンの食卓に並ぶ、とてもおいしそうなものを無視するということです。聖約の道にとどまるということは、イエス・キリストの真の従者になることです。
Staying on the covenant path means rejecting all of Satan’s tricks and temptations. Staying on the covenant path means ignoring the things on Satan’s table that look like they would be very delicious. Staying on the covenant path means being a true follower of Jesus Christ.
新しい週が始まります。私たちの日々の行動を吟味し、サタンの食卓で過ごしていないかチェックしてみましょう。私たちの生活の中で、聖約の道から遠ざけるようなものを捨てるために頑張りましょう。私たちの救い主イエス・キリストに完全に、誠実に、そして感謝をもって従いましょう。
As we go through this next week, let’s examine our daily behavior and see if we are spending any time at Satan’s table. Let’s do our best to eliminate those things in our life that take us away from the covenant path. Let’s follow our Savior Jesus Christ completely, honestly, and with gratitude.
