また、良い地にまかれたものとは、御言を聞いて悟る人のことであって、そういう人が実を結び、百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍にもなるのである。マタイ書１３：２３

But he that receiveth the word into good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.  Matthew 13:23

This scripture is from the Parable of the Sower.  We are all familiar with that parable.  In the Parable of the Sower, the Savior talks about missionary work.  

この聖句は種まきのたとえ話の中にあり、私たちは誰でもこのたとえ話を良く知っています。種まきのたとえで救い主は宣教師の働きについて語っておられます。

He tells us that as the missionaries teach the gospel, some people won’t listen at all.  Other people listen, but like the missionaries more than the gospel.  Other people listen, but get lead away by bad friends.

救い主は、まるで宣教師が福音を教える時のように、ある人々はまったく聞こうとしないと言われました。また別の人々は聞いても福音よりも宣教師に関心を持っていたり、また他の人々は聞いても悪い友達によって（福音から）離れてしまいます。

But some people listen and understand the words of the missionaries.  These people pray about what they were taught.  They begin to receive a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel.

でも、ある人々は宣教師の言葉を聞いてそれを理解します。彼らは教えられたことについて祈り、福音の真実性について証を受け始めます。

We are like these people.  We are the “good ground”.  We received the teachings of the missionaries and planted the seed in the good ground.  

私たちはそのような人です。私たちは「良い地」であり、宣教師の教えを受け入れ良い地に種を蒔いたのです。

Now what?

さてこれからどうすべきでしょう？

Are we all the same?  We all are “good ground”, but do we all have the same callings and assignments?

私たちはみな同じでしょうか？私たちはみな「良い地」ですが、みな同じ召しや責任を受けていますか？

Notice that in this scripture, the Savior says that brought forth fruit, “some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty”.

この聖句で気づくように、救い主はそういう人が実を結び、「あるものは百倍、あるいは六十倍、あるいは三十倍」にもなると教えられました。

Does the Savior say that those who brought forth a hundredfold are better than those who only brought forth thirty fold?  

救い主は、百倍に実を結ぶ者は三十倍だけにする者よりもっとよいと言われていますか？

No.  

いいえ、違います。

In fact, it is just the opposite.  Even those who were only able to bring forth thirty fold are praised by the Savior.  There is no requirement that everyone has to bring forth a hundredfold.

それどころか反対なのです。ただ三十倍だけ実を結ぶものも主に賞賛されるのです。だれも百倍に実を結べとは要求されていないのです。

In this life, we all have challenges, trials, difficulties.  We are given assignments and callings.  We have opportunities to serve.  We do not all receive the same callings.  We are given those callings that are best for us.

この世では私たちは皆、チャレンジや試練、困難に遭遇します。私たちは責任や召しを受けますし、奉仕する機会があります。私たちは全員、同じ召しを受けることはありません。私たちにとって（その時の）最善の召しを受けるのです。

We cannot measure our own progress by comparing our progress to the progress of others.  Maybe we know someone who is “an hundredfold” person.  Maybe we are only a “ten fold” person.  

私たちは他人の進歩と比較して自分自身の進歩を測ることはできません。私たちは「百倍の実を結んでいる」人を知っているかもしれませんし、また「ほんの十倍の実しか結んでいない」人を知っているかもしれません。

That is great!

それはすばらしいことです。

The goal is not for us all to become “hundredfold” people.  The goal is for each of us to do our best with the challenges, trials, and callings that we have been given.  

目標は私たちが全員「百倍の実を結ぶ」ものになることではありません。目標は誰もがチャレンジや試練、困難の中で最善を尽くすことなのです。

Just as in this scripture, it does not matter what other people are able to do.  It only matters that we are doing our best.  That is all that is required of us.  

この聖句が教えるように、他の人が何を出来るかは関係ないのです。私たちが最善を尽くしているかが問題なのです。それだけが私たちに求められていることなのです。

May we be “good ground” people this week.  May we plant the seed of the gospel deep in good ground and take care of it.  May we always do our best in whatever calling, assignment, or challenge we are given.  Even if we are only a “ten fold” person, the Lord will be very proud of us.  

今週、私たちが「よい地」であれますように。福音の種をよい地に深く植え、その世話が出来ますように。どんな召し、責任、チャレンジを受けていようと常に最善を尽くせますように。

I know that we can receive all the promised blessings if we just do our best.  We cannot compare ourselves to others.  We just need to keep going forward with faith, doing our best.

私はただ最善を尽くすことで約束された祝福を受けることが出来ると知っています。私たちは他人と比べることは出来ません。必要なのは、信仰を持って前進し、最善を尽くすことだけなのです。
