ところで、わたしの愛する同胞よ、わたしはあなたがたがイスラエルの聖者であるキリストのもとに来て、キリストの救いと、キリストの贖いの力にあずかるように望んでいる。まことにキリストのもとに来て、自分自身をキリストへのささげ物としてささげ、断食と祈りを続け、最後まで堪え忍びなさい。そうすれば、主が生きておられるように確かに、あなたがたは救われるであろう。オムナイ章１：２６

And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation and the power of his redemption.  Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole soul as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.  Omni 1:26

In this world, everyone is searching for happiness.  Some people spend their whole lives searching, trying one thing after another.  Others think there is some great secret that will tell them how to be happy.   Other people think that great sacrifices need to be made to be happy.

世界ではだれもが幸福を捜し求めています。人はあれこれ試しながら一生探し続けています。ある人は幸福になる秘法があると考えています。そしてある人は幸福を得るには偉大な犠牲が必要だとも考えています。

The truth is that it is easy to find happiness.  

実際のところは幸福を見つけるのは簡単だということです。

In this scripture, Omni teaches us the simple and plain path we need to follow to be happy.  There is nothing secret about it.  There is nothing complicated about it.  There is nothing hard about it.

この聖句ではオムナイが幸福を得るための簡単かつ明白な道を教えています。これといった秘密はありません。また複雑で難しいこともないのです。

The true path to happiness is simply to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ.  

幸福への真の道はただイエスキリストの福音に従うことなのです。

This is something that is available to everyone.  No one is rejected.  Anyone who keeps the commandments of the Lord can receive these great blessings.

これは全ての人に与えられているものです。だれも拒絶されることもありませんし、だれでも主の戒めに従うならばこれらの偉大な祝福を受けることができます。

We must take action.  We must keep the commandments.  We must serve in our callings.  We must help others.  We must read the scriptures.  We must fast.  We must pray.

（そのために）私たちは行動しなければなりません。戒めに従わなければなりません。自分の責任を果たさなければなりません。他の誰かを助けなければなりません。聖典を読まなければなりません。また断食と祈りをしなければなりません。

And we must do all those things not just for a day or a week or a month, but for as long as we live.  We must endure to the end.

私たちはこれら全てのことをしなければなりません。一日、一週間、一ヶ月だけではなく生きている限りずっとです。終わりまで耐え忍ぶ必要があるのです。

If we do these simple things, we are promised in this scripture that we will receive the greatest of all blessings.  We are promised that we will be saved.  

もしこれらの簡単なことをするならば全ての祝福の中で最もすばらしいものを受けるとこの聖句では約束しています。私たちは救われると約束されています。

To be saved means to be able to live with our Heavenly Father again.  It means to receive all the blessings of the resurrection.  It means to receive the blessings of eternal life with our families.

救われるとは再び天父とともに住むことができるという意味です。復活の全ての祝福を受けるという意味です。私たちの家族とともに永遠の生命を受けるという意味です。

What great promises!

何とすばらしい約束でしょう！

If we just do our small part, every one of us has an equal opportunity to receive all the blessings.

もし私たちの小さな義務を果たすならば、私たちには全ての祝福を受けるという平等な機会があるのです。

May we work hard this week to follow the simple requirements taught by Omni.  May we do the little things each day that we need to do to qualify for these blessings.  May we keep the commandments each day of our lives.

今週もオムナイの教えた簡単な教えに従うよう頑張りましょう。これらの祝福を受ける資格を得られるよう毎日小さな事柄をしましょう。毎日戒めに従って生活しましょう。

I know that if we will do these things, we will receive the greatest of all blessings.  Everything that the Father has promised to us will be ours, through our faith in Jesus Christ and through our obedience to his commandments.

これらの事柄をするならば全ての祝福の中で最も大きなものを受けることを知っています。イエスキリストへの信仰と戒めへの従順さをもって天父が私たちに約束された全てが私たちのものとなるのです。
