わたしたちはキリストのことを話し、キリストのことを喜び、キリストのことを説教し、また、どこに罪の赦しを求めればよいかを、わたしたちの子孫に知らせるために、自分たちの預言したことを書き記すのである。ニーファイ第二書２５：２６

And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.  2 Nephi 25:26

In this scripture, Nephi reminds us of the most basic principle of the gospel.  

この聖句でニーファイは福音の最も基本的な原則を私たちに思い起こさせています。

He reminds us that everything we do, everything we hope for, everything in this world and in eternity is based upon the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ.

彼は私たちの行いすべて、望みのすべて、またこの世と永遠のすべての事がらが救い主イエス・キリストの贖いによることを私たちに思い起こさせています。

Nothing is more important than the atonement.

贖い以上に大切なことはありません。

Without the atonement, there is no happiness.  Without the atonement, there is no resurrection.  Without the atonement, there is no eternal life.

贖いなしに幸福はありません。贖いなしに復活はありませんし、贖い無しに永遠の生命もありません。

The whole purpose of the gospel plan is to bring souls unto Christ.  

福音の計画の目的全てはキリストのもとに私たちの心を導くことです。

It is only through Christ that we can receive a remission of our sins.  It is only through Christ that we can have hope.  It is only through Christ that we can have eternal happiness.

罪の許しはキリストを通してのみ受けれるのです。私たちはキリストを通してのみ希望を持てるのです。永遠の幸福はキリストを通してのみ得られるのです。

Like Nephi, we should also “talk of Christ, rejoice in Christ, and preach of Christ”.  

ニーファイのように私たちは「キリストのことを話し、キリストのことを喜び、キリストのことを説教」しなければなりません。

It is our duty and responsibility to teach our friends, our neighbors, and most importantly our own families about Jesus Christ.  

私たちには私たちの友達や隣人、そしてもっとも大切である家族にイエス・キリストについて教える義務と責任があります。

Do your own children know that you have a testimony of Jesus Christ?  

あなた自身の子供はあなたがイエス・キリストについて証を持っていることを知っていますか？

Many of us have children that have strayed from the gospel path.  It is especially important for us to “talk of Christ” with them.  

私たちの多くは福音の道から迷い出た子供を持っています。そのような子供に「キリストのことを話す」ことは特に大切です。

It is true that they must make their own choices.  But we must do all that we can to help them return to the gospel.  Nephi’s counsel in this scripture can be a guide for us as we seek to guide them back to the straight and narrow path.

彼らが自分自身で選択をしなければならないことは確かです。しかし彼らが福音の道に戻れるようすべてのことをしなければなりません。この聖句のニーファイの勧告は私たちが彼らをまっすぐで狭い道に導く方法を捜し求めるときに導きとなってくれます。

May we, like Nephi, “talk of Christ, rejoice in Christ, and preach of Christ”.  May we share our testimonies with those around us, especially with those we love.  May we strengthen our own testimonies of the atonement and of our Savior.  

ニーファイのように「キリストのことを話し、キリストのことを喜び、キリストのことを説教」しましょう。私たちの周りにいる者に、特に私たちの愛するものに私たちの証を分かち合いましょう。贖いと救い主について自分自身の証が強めれますように。

I know that it is only through the atonement of Jesus Christ that we can have true happiness in this world and in the world to come.  I know that he is our Savior and our Redeemer.  I know that he loves us with unconditional love and is eagerly waiting for us to make correct choices.

私はイエス・キリストの贖いを通してのみ、この世と来る世で真の幸福を得ることが出来ると知っています。私はキリストが私たちの救い主であり、贖い主であると知っています。私はキリストが私たちを無条件の愛をもって愛しておられ、私たちが正しい選択をするよう切望しておられることを知っています。

Let’s work hard this week to remember the atonement and our Savior.  Let’s talk of Christ.  Let’s rejoice in Christ.  Let’s preach of Christ.  I know that we will find greater happiness as we do these things.

今週も贖いと私たちの救い主のことを覚えて過ごしましょう。キリストについて話しましょう。キリストについて喜びましょう。キリストのことを説教しましょう。私はこれらのことを行うなら更なる幸せを見出すことを知っています。
