天使は聖霊の力で語る。したがって、天使はキリストの言葉を語る。さて、わたしは、キリストの言葉をよく味わうようにあなたがたに言った。見よ、キリストの言葉はあなたがたがなすべきことをすべて告げるからである。ニーファイ第二書３２：３

Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ.  Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.  2 Nephi 32:3

In this scripture, Nephi teaches us an important lesson.  

この聖句でニーファイは大切なことを私たちに教えています。

We are all confronted with problems, trials, and challenges in this life.  

私たちは皆、この生涯で問題や試練、チャレンジに直面します。

We want to make correct choices.  We want to do what is right.  We want to make good decisions.

私たちは正しい選択をしたいと思っています。私たちは正しいことを行いたい、また正しい決断をしたいと思っています。

But that is hard to do sometimes.  Sometimes we do not know what the correct decision is.

しかし時にはそうすることが難しいことがあります。時々私たちは何が正しい決断なのかわからないことがあります。

In this scripture, Nephi gives us the answer to that problem.

この聖句ではニーファイがそのような疑問に答えてくれています。

He teaches us that we must “feast upon the words of Christ”.  That means that we need to study the scriptures and the conference talks.  We are to not just “nibble”, but to “feast” upon the scriptures.

彼は「キリストの言葉をよく味わうように」しなければならないと教えています。それは私たちが聖文や総大会の話を勉強する必要があるという意味です。聖文を「少しだけかじる」のではなく「よく味わう」べきなのです。

Every day, we need the strength and faith that comes from studying the scriptures.  Every day, we need guidance.  Every day, we need inspiration.

毎日私たちは聖文の勉強からもたらされる強さと信仰を必要としています。毎日私たちは霊感や導きが必要です。

If we study the scriptures, the “words of Christ”, we will receive those promised blessings.  

もし聖文、つまり「キリストの言葉」を学ぶなら、私たちは約束されたこれらの祝福を受けるのです。

Nephi tells us that “the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do”.  

ニーファイは「キリストの言葉はあなたがたがなすべきことをすべて告げる」と教えています。

We are promised that we will be able to receive inspiration and guidance for the problems of life.  We are promised that we will be able to make correct choices.  We are promised that we will be able to make good decisions.

私たちは日々の問題について霊感や導きを受けることが出来ると約束されています。私たちは正しい選択ができると約束されています。また私たちはよい選択ができると約束されています。

All we have to do is to do our part.  We have to spend time to read the scriptures.  We have to study the scriptures.  We have to think about what we read in the scriptures.

私たちはただ自分のすべきことを行うだけでよいのです。私たちは聖文を学ぶ時間を作り、読んだ聖文について考えてみなければなりません。

I know that we can receive guidance for all of the challenges and problems we face in this life.  I know that studying the scriptures will bring greater peace to our lives.  I know that we can be healed as we read the scriptures.

私はこの生涯で遭遇するすべてのチャレンジや問題について導きを受けれることを知っています。私は聖文を学ぶことが私たちの生活に大きな平安をもたらしてくれる事を知っています。また私は聖文を読むとき癒されることも知っています。

Let’s all make a greater effort this week to “feast upon the words of Christ”.  If we do, we will receive the blessings and help that we need.
