And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory round about them, and thine angels have charge over them. Doctrine & Covenants 109:22
There is an interesting message in this scripture from the dedicatory prayer for the Kirtland Temple given by the Prophet Joseph Smith.
預言者ジョセフ・スミスのカートランド神殿の奉献の祈りであるこの聖句には興味深いメッセージが含まれています。
In this verse, the Prophet prays for those who will “go forth from this house”. In other words, he prays for those who will participate in the ordinances of the Temple. I believe that this same message and promise applies to us today.
この聖句で預言者は「この宮から出ていく」者のために祈っています。言い換えれば彼は神殿の儀式を受ける者のために祈っています。この同じメッセージと約束は今日の私たちにも当てはまります。
As we attend the Temple, whether as a youth to do Temple baptisms or as adults to participate in the higher ordinances of the Temple, we can receive those same blessings that the Prophet promised to the Saints in Kirtland.

Notice in particular the very last phrase, “thine angels have charge over them”.

What does this mean?

To “have charge over” can mean “to be responsible for”, or “to take care of”.
英語原文の「have charge over」は「責任を負う」とか「面倒を見る」という意味があります。
As I understand this promise, it means that the Lord will send angels to help us, to watch over us, to guide us.
この約束は主が私たちを見守り導くために天使を送ってくださるという意味だと理解しています。
We sometimes use the phrase “guardian angels”. For example, when we are protected from an accident or from a dangerous situation, we sometimes say, “my guardian angel was watching over me”. This may be much more real than we think.
私たちは時折「守護天使」という言葉を使います。例えば私たちが事故や危険な状況から守られたりした時「私の守護天使が見守ってくれた」と言うことがあります。これは考えてる以上に本当かもしれません。
We have been taught that we do have an “guardian angel” assigned to us. The job of that angel is to record our deeds in this life. Most likely, they are also to help us and to keep us from danger.

Sometimes we receive promptings to do something different, to stay home, to go to see someone, to take a different route, or something similar. It may be that our “guardian angel” is trying to warn us and to help us be safe.

I don’t know how this works, but I think it is likely that our “guardian angel” is someone who loves us very much. It may be that, in the spirit world, someone who is our own ancestor, relative, or family member, could be given this assignment.
どうなのかは知りませんが、「守護天使」は私たちをとても愛している誰かだと私は思います。霊会で私たちの先祖や親戚、家族のメンバーだったものがこの使命を受けるのかもしれません。
It might even be someone for whom we have performed temple ordinances. We have been told that those for whom we perform temple ordinances will seek us out in the spirit world and will shed tears of gratitude for our service to them.

As long as we keep the commandments, we have a right to receive all the promised blessings. One of those promised blessings is that the “angels will have charge over us”.

Let’s go forward this week, remembering the great promises of the Lord. Let’s remember that the Lord is watching over us and that he has sent his angels to protect and guide us. Let’s remember to follow the promptings that we receive from the Holy Ghost. Let’s be worthy of these blessings.
