And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory round about them, and thine angels have charge over them. Doctrine & Covenants 109:22
This scripture is from the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple. The Prophet Joseph Smith wrote that this pray was given to him by revelation. It contains some important messages for us in our day.
この聖句はカートランド神殿の奉献の祈りの一部です。預言者ジョセフ・スミスはこの祈りは啓示により与えられたと記しています。そこには今日の私たちにも大切なメッセージが含まれています。
In this scripture, there are four special blessings listed.
この聖句では四つの特別な祝福が記録されています。
The first blessing is that those who come to the Temple will go forth “armed with thy power”. As we attend the Temple, and keep the covenants that we make in the Temple, we gain greater faith and greater knowledge. As we gain greater faith and knowledge, our spiritual “power” will increase. We will be better able to withstand the temptations of Satan. We will be better examples of Jesus Christ.
まず最初の祝福は、神殿に来るものは「あなたの力を帯びて」出ていくというものです。神殿に参入し、神殿の中で交わす聖約を守ることで私たちはより強い信仰と知識を得るのです。より強い信仰と知識を得ることで私たちの霊的な「力」が増し、サタンの誘惑に負けることがなくなります。私たちはイエス・キリストのより良い模範になるのです。
The second blessing is that “thy name will be upon them”. As we attend the Temple and keep our covenants, we will become a more holy people. We will be able to receive guidance and revelation in our own individual lives. We will be worthy of being sons and daughters of God.
二つ目の祝福は「あなたの御名が彼らのうえにある」と言うものです。神殿に参入し聖約を守ることで私たちはより清い民となります。私たち自身の生活で導きや啓示を受けれるようになるのです。神の息子、娘としてよりふさわしくなるのです。
The third blessing is that the glory of the Lord will be round about us. As we attend the Temple, and as we keep our covenants, more light will come into our lives. Darkness will be banished. We will be better able to feel the influence of the Holy Ghost in our lives. We will be able to be better examples to those around us.
三つ目の祝福は、主の栄光は私たちの周りにあるというものです。神殿に参入し、聖約を守ることでより多くの光が私たちの生活に差し込むようになります。暗闇は消えていきます。生活の中で聖霊の影響をもっと感じることが出来るようになります。周りにいる人々により良い模範となることが出来ます。
The fourth blessing is that angels will have charge over us. As we attend the Temple, as we keep sacred covenants, we will be able to receive all the blessings that the Lord has promised to the faithful. We will truly have angels around us, to help us, to protect us, to guide us.
四つ目の祝福は、天使が私たちの責任を引き受けるというものです。神殿に参入し、神聖な聖約を守ることで私たちは信仰のあるものに主が約束されたすべて祝福を受けれるのです。私たちを助け、守り、導いてくれる天使が確かに私たちの周りにいてくれることでしょう。
What wonderful blessings are promised to those who love the Lord and who come to his holy house.
主を愛し聖なる家にやって来る人々に何と素晴らしい祝福が約束されていることでしょう。
In the Temple, we find peace. In the Temple, we find revelation. In the Temple, we find eternal joy.
神殿の中で私たちは平安を見出します。私たちは神殿の中で啓示を見、永遠の喜びを見出します。
We have been encouraged to attend the Temple as often as our circumstances allow. For some, this may be once a week. For some, this may be once a month. For some, this may be only a few times each year. The important thing is that we make Temple attendance a priority in our lives and do our best to attend the Temple as often as we can.
私たちは状況が許す限り頻繁に神殿に参入するよう奨励されています。ある人にはそれが週に一度かもしれません。他の人には月に一度かもしれません。また年に２，３回しか行けない人もいるかもしれません。重要なのは神殿参入を生活の中で優先させること、また出来る限り頻繁に神殿参入するよう最善を尽くすということです。
If you have a current Temple recommend, but have not used it recently, now is a good time to make a decision to go to the Temple soon. If you do not have a current Temple recommend, now is a good time to meet with the Bishop and, with his help, make a plan to qualify for a Temple recommend. If you have a current Temple recommend, and use it as often as you can, keep up the good work!
あなたがもし神殿推薦状を持っていても最近使っていなければ、近いうちに神殿に行くと今、決心をするよい機会です。もし神殿推薦状を持っていなければ今がビショップに会って神殿推薦状を受けるに相応しくなる計画をたてよう助けてもらうよい機会です。もし神殿推薦状を持っていて、頻繁に使っているならば、その良い業を続けてください。
Great blessings are in store for those who do their best to faithfully attend the Temple. Those blessings can be found nowhere else on this earth. Those blessings will change our lives here on earth and in the eternities.
忠実に神殿に参入するよう最善を尽くす人には素晴らしい祝福が待っています。それはこの地上のどこを探しても見つからない祝福です。その祝福はこの世と永遠にわたって私たちの人生を変えてくれるでしょう。
By attending the Temple, we can become eternal families. We can be together forever. We can have eternal happiness and joy with our own families.
神殿に参入することで私たちは永遠の家族となれるのです。永遠と一緒にいることが出来るのです。永遠の幸福と喜びを私たちの家族と共に得ることが出来ます。
Please, please, come to the Temple.
どーぞ、どーぞ神殿にお越しください。
Let’s make the decision this week to attend the Temple as often as we can. Let’s make the decision to be worthy to receive all the blessings that are found in the Temple. Let’s make the decision to have peace and happiness and joy in our lives.
出来る限り頻繁に神殿参入する決意を今週しましょう。神殿で見つけられるすべての祝福を受けるにふさわしくなると決意しましょう。平安と幸せ、喜びのある生活をすると決意しましょう。
