わたしに学び、わたしの言葉を聴きなさい。わたしの御霊の柔和な道を歩みなさい。そうすれば、あなたはわたしによって平安を得るであろう。 教義と聖約１９：２３
Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me. Doctrine & Covenants 19:23
This scripture is contained in a revelation given to the Prophet Joseph Smith in March of 1830. The Prophet said this revelation was a “commandment of God and not of man”. It was given specifically to Martin Harris, but it also is important for each of us.
この聖句は1830年3月に預言者ジョセフ・スミスが受けた啓示の中にあります。預言者はこの啓示が「人ではなく神の誡めである」と述べています。これはマーティン・ハリスに与えられたものですが私たち個人にとっても大切なものです。
Martin Harris was commanded by the Lord to “learn of me, and listen to my words”.
マーティン・ハリスは主から「わたしに学び、わたしの言葉を聴きなさい」と誡められました。
We must do the same thing.
私たちも同じようにしなければなりません。
We have just completed another wonderful General Conference. During the Conference, we have been taught by apostles and prophets. They have taught us the words of the Lord.
またまた素晴らしい総大会が終わりました。総大会を通して使徒や預言者からを教え授かりました。彼らは主の言葉を私たちに教授してくれました。
Whether or not you were able to watch all the sessions of General Conference, we all have the opportunity to study and review the messages. The talks are available on the Church’s website, in the Ensign, and in the Liahona.
総大会をすべて見れなかったにしろ私たちはそのメッセージを再び復習し学ぶ機会があります。すべてのお話しは教会のウェブサイトや、Ensign、リアホナに載っています。
As we study the talks of General Conference, we will be following the instructions the Lord gave to Martin Harris to “learn of me”.
総大会のお話を学ぶとき、私たちは主からマーティン・ハリスに教えられた「わたしに学びなさい」という勧告に従っているのです。
As we study, the Holy Ghost will testify to us that the messages are true. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, we will be able to “listen” to the words of the Lord.
研究し学ぶとき聖霊がそのメッセージが真実であると証してくれるでしょう。聖霊の力を通して私たちは主の言葉を「聴く」ことが出来るのです。
After we “learn” and “listen” to the words of the Lord, what is the next step?
主の言葉を「聴」いたら、次は何をすべきでしょう？
We are commanded to “walk in the meekness of my Spirit”.
主は「わたしの御霊の柔和な道を歩みなさい」と戒められておられます。
We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we prayerfully study the gospel messages. We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we pray to have the Holy Ghost teach us. We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we follow the counsel that we have been given.
私たちは福音のメッセージを祈りの心で研究し学ぶとき御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。聖霊から学べるよう祈ることで御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。教わった勧告に従うことで御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。
We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we have our individual and family gospel study time on the Sabbath. We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we read The Book of Mormon each day. We walk in the meekness of the Spirit when we minister to others.
私たちは安息日に個人や家族と福音を学ぶ時間を持つことで御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。毎日モルモン書を読むことで御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。また誰かをミニスタリングすることで御霊の柔和な道を歩みます。
If we do these things, the Lord has promised us that we will “have peace in me”.
それらを行うなら、主は「わたしによって平安を得る」と私たちに約束しておられます。
What a great blessing! In this world of trials, troubles, and tears, what a great blessing it is to have peace. This is a blessing that is available to everyone one. The requirements are simple. Learn, listen, and obey.
何と素晴らしい祝福でしょう。試練や苦難、混乱したこの世にあって平安を持つということは何度素晴らしい祝福でしょう。私たちの誰もがこの祝福を受けれるのです。すべきことは簡単で、学び聴き、従うだけです。
As we go through this next week, let’s take time to review and study the messages of General Conference. Let’s learn the word of the Lord. Let’s listen and obey. Let’s all be worthy of having peace in the Lord.
新しい週を過ごす時、総大会のメッセージを復習し研究し学ぶ時間を取ってみましょう。主の言葉を学びましょう。聴き従いましょう。主によって平安がもてるにふさわしくありましょう。
