イースターの季節が終わりましたが、救い主イエス・キリストの贖罪と復活に今一度、焦点を当ててみるのがよいでしょう。
As we come to the end of the Easter season, it is appropriate to focus once more on the Atonement and Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ.
ヨハネのこの特別な節は、イエス・キリストの福音を力強く要約しています。この短い言葉で、救い主イエス・キリストとその贖罪が私たちの中核となっていることを要約しています。
This particular verse in John is a powerful summary of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In just a few short words, it summarizes the centrality of Jesus Christ and his Atonement in our salvation.
救い主の贖罪と復活があるからこそ、私たちは永遠の命を得ることができるのです。
It is only through the Atonement and Resurrection of our Savior that we can have eternal life.
人類の歴史の中で、贖罪と復活ほど重要な出来事は他にありません。贖罪と復活がなければ、私たちは希望を持てないでしょう。悔い改めることもできません。天の家に帰る方法もありません。
No other event in the history of mankind is as important as the Atonement and Resurrection. Without the Atonement and Resurrection, we would have no hope. We would have no ability to repent. We would have no way to return to our Heavenly home.
救い主の贖罪と復活の力によって、私たちは皆、復活するのです。この地上に住むすべての人が、いつの日か死と呼ばれる変化を経験するように、すべての人が復活と呼ばれる変化を経験するのです。
It is through the power of the Atonement and the Resurrection of our Savior that we will all be resurrected. Just as every person who ever has or ever will live on this earth will someday experience the change we call death, so also every person will experience the change we call resurrection.
復活は、私たちの救い主からの無償の贈り物です。誰も復活の資格を得るために何かをする必要はありません。復活の教義は、私たちが永遠の存在であることを教えています。私たちの肉体は死にますが、私たちの霊は決して死ぬことはありません。それは永遠なのです。復活の賜物とは、私たちが皆、将来ある時点で、完全な形で肉体を取り戻すことを意味します。
Resurrection is a free gift from our Savior. No one has to do anything to qualify for resurrection. The doctrine of the resurrection teaches us that we are eternal beings. While our physical body will die, our spirit can never die. It is eternal. The gift of the resurrection means that we will all receive our bodies back in perfect form at some time in the future.
イエス・キリストを信じる者は決して死ぬことはない、という聖句は何を意味するのでしょうか。生きとし生けるものは、いつの日か必ず死ぬのに、そんなことがあるのでしょうか？
What does the scripture mean, that those who believe in Jesus Christ shall never die? How can that be, since every living thing must someday die?
この聖句は、私たちの地上での生活だけを指しているのではありません。むしろ、救い主は私たちの永遠の行く末について教えているのです。私たちは、この地上では確かに死にますが、永遠の世では、喜びと幸せの中で生き続けることができるのです。
The verse does not refer only to our life here on earth. Rather, the Savior teaches us about our eternal destiny. While we will certainly die here on earth, we will be able to continue living in joy and happiness in the eternal world.
戒めを守り、イエス・キリストの真の弟子になるために最善を尽くすとき、私たちは約束された祝福を受ける資格を得るのです。戒めを守り、イエス・キリストに従うために最善を尽くすとき、私たちは救いの儀式をすべて受ける資格を得るのです。戒めを守り、聖約の道を歩むために最善を尽くすとき、私たちは天父と再び一緒に暮らす資格を得るのです。
As we do our best to keep the commandments and to become a true disciple of Jesus Christ, we qualify ourselves for the promised blessing. As we do our best to keep the commandments and to follow Jesus Christ, we qualify ourselves to receive all the ordinances of salvation. As we do our best to keep the commandments and to stay on the covenant path, we will qualify ourselves to live with Heavenly Father once again.
これらの祝福はすべて、イエス・キリストの贖罪と復活の奇跡によってもたらされます。イエス・キリストは道であり、光であり、命です。主を信じ、罪を悔い改め、戒めを守るすべての人に、イエス・キリストは慈悲の手を差し伸べてくださいます。
All these blessings come through the miracle of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is the way, the light, and the life. He extends his arms of mercy to every person who will have faith in him, who will repent of their sins, and who will keep the commandments.
誰ひとり例外ではありません。誰ひとり拒絶されることはありません。誰ひとり取り残されることはありません。約束された祝福は、救い主イエス・キリストに従うすべての人に与えられるのです。
No one is excluded. No one is rejected. No one is left out. The promised blessings are available to all who will follow the Savior Jesus Christ.
新しい週が始まります。復活の偉大な祝福について考える時間を持ってみましょう。救い主が私たち一人一人のために払ってくださった代価を思い起こしてみましょう。救い主が生きておられることを心に留め、この地上での生活は、私たちの永遠の存在のほんの一部に過ぎないことを忘れないようにしましょう。戒めを守る者に約束されている大きな祝福、つまり復活と永遠の命の祝福を覚えて過ごしましょう。
As we go through this next week, let’s send time pondering over the great blessing of the Resurrection. Let’s remember the price that the Savior paid for each of us. Let’s remember that the Savior lives. Let’s remember that this earth life is but a brief portion of our eternal existence. Let’s remember the great blessings that are promised to those who keep the commandments, even the blessings of the resurrection and life eternal.
