And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.  Mark 1:22

先週、私たちは救い主の現世での教導の始まりについて学びました。救い主が最初に行なわねばならなかったのは、バプテスマを受けることでした。バプテスマのヨハネが、救い主にバプテスマを施す責任を与えられた神権者であると学びました。救い主は罪のないお方でしたが、すべての戒めに従うことが重要であると模範によって示されました。

In our reading last week, we learned about the opening of the Savior’s mortal ministry.  The first thing that needed to be done was for the Savior to be baptized.  We learned that John the Baptist was the priesthood holder who was given the assignment to baptize the Savior.  Even though he was sinless, the Savior showed us by his example that it is important to follow all of the commandments.

救い主はバプテスマを受けた後、福音を宣べ伝える業を行うために人々を召されました。12 人の義人を使徒に召し、模範によって人々に仕える方法を示されました。

After the Savior was baptized, he began to call others to assist in the work of preaching the gospel.  He called 12 righteous men to be apostles and showed them by his example how to serve the people.  

マルコは救い主がカペナウムという町に行かれたことを教えています。安息日に救い主は会堂に行き、人々に教えられました。救い主が権威をもって福音を教えられたので、人々は驚いたとマルコは述べています。人々は律法の文言を律法学者や祭司から教えられていました。 しかしイエス・キリストは人々に律法の精神にも従うよう教えられました。

Mark teaches us that the Savior went to a town called Capernaum.  On the Sabbath Day, the Savior went to the synagogue and began to teach the people.  Mark says that the people were astonished, because the Savior taught the gospel with authority.  The people had been taught the letter of the law by the scribes and priest.  Jesus Christ, however, taught the people to obey the spirit of the law as well.

福音が完全に回復された時代に生きていることは非常に祝福されています。救い主の時代の人々とは異なり、私たちは律法学者や祭司から教わったことだけに縛られることはありません。私たちには教えを施してくれる使徒と預言者がいます。救い主のように、それらの使徒や預言者は権威をもって教えます。

We are very blessed to live in a time when the gospel has been restored in its fulness.  Unlike the people in the time of the Savior, we are not limited to just what we are taught by scribes or priests.  We have apostles and prophets to teach us.  Like the Savior, those apostles and prophets teach with authority.  

彼らはキリストの言葉を教えているので、権威を持って教えます。イエス・キリストが教会の頭であるため、彼らは権威をもって教えます。生ける預言者はイエス・キリストから直接啓示を受けるので、彼らは権威をもって教えます。

They teach with authority because they teach the words of Christ.  They teach with authority because Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.  They teach with authority because living prophets receive revelation directly from Jesus Christ.

彼らは権威を持って教えているので、私たちは「弁解の余地が」ありません。私たちは選ばれた神権指導者から真理を教えられてきました。ベニヤミン王が教えたように、天使の言葉を教えられた民は「弁解の余地がありません」でした。

Because they teach with authority, we are left “without excuse”.  We have been taught the truth by chosen priesthood leaders.  As king Benjamin taught, his own people were “without excuse” after he had taught them the words of the angel.

彼らは権威をもって教えているので、私たちは彼らを信頼できると知っています。彼らが私たちに主の言葉を教えていることを知っています。同時に、彼らの教えを研究し、教えられたことを深く考え、教えられたことが真実であるという証を得るために祈ることは、私たちの責任です。

Because they teach with authority, we know we can trust them.  We know they teach us the word of the Lord.  At the same time, it is our own individual responsibility to study what they teach us, to ponder over the things that we have been taught, and to pray to receive a testimony that what we have been taught is true.

彼らは権威を持って教えているので、私たちを聖約の道に導きます。それらは、私たちと先祖が受けなければならない救いの儀式について教えてくれます。彼らは、散らされたイスラエルを集めるという偉大な業を助けることによってもたらされる大きな祝福について教えています。

Because they teach with authority, they point us to the covenant path.  They teach us about the ordinances of salvation that both we and our ancestors must receive.  They teach us about the great blessings that come from helping in the great work of gathering scattered Israel.

新しい週が始まります。権威ある人から教えを受けることの大きな祝福について考えてみましょう。救い主が権威を持って教えられたように、彼らも権威を持って教えていることを覚えていましょう。私たちには、教えられたことについて学び、深く考え、祈る責任があることを忘れないようにしましょう。常に彼らの導きに従い、聖約の道をしっかりと歩むよう努めてください。

As we go through this next week, let’s think about the great blessing we have of being taught by those who teach with authority.  Let’s remember that they teach with authority just like the Savior taught with authority.  Let’s remember that we have a personal responsibility to study, ponder, and pray about the things that we are taught.  Let’s remember to always follow their guidance and stay firmly on the covenant path.
