なぜ生きた方を死人の中に訪ねているのか。そのかたは、ここにはおられない。よみがえられたのだ。ルカ　２４:５−６

Why seek ye the living among the dead?  He is not here, but is risen.  Luke 24:5-6

“Why seek ye the living among the dead?”

「なぜ生きた方を死人の中に訪ねているのか」

With this simple sentence, the angels announced to faithful sisters that the Savior had indeed conquered death.  As he had prophesied, he was resurrected and lived again.

この簡単な文章で、天使は救い主が確かに死を征服されたことを忠実な姉妹たちに宣言されました。予言されていたように、主は復活し、再び生きられたのです。

The Atonement and Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, was the greatest event in the whole history of this earth.  It was the main purpose for which this earth had been created.

救い主イエス・キリストの贖罪と復活は、歴史上最も大いなる出来事でした。それがこの地球が創造された主な目的でした。

By his great Atonement, the Savior made it possible for us to repent of our sins.  He took on the burden of the sins of all mankind and paid the price in full.  With great mercy and love, he invites everyone everywhere to come to him, to learn of him, and to repent of their sins.

救い主の大いなる贖罪によって、私たちが罪を悔い改めることを可能にしました。主は全人類の罪の重荷を負い、代価を全て支払われました。大きな憐れみと愛をもって、主はすべての人に主のもとに来て、主について学び、罪を悔い改めるように勧めておられます。

We are taught in the Book of Mormon that mercy cannot rob justice.  In other words, the price of our sins must be paid by someone.  If we reject the Savior and his teachings, we must pay that price ourselves.  If we accept the Savior and keep his commandments, we can obtain forgiveness of all of our sins.  He has already paid the penalty for each of us.

モルモン書では、憐れみは正義を奪うことはできないと教えています。言い換えれば、私たちの罪の代価は誰かが支払わなければなりません。救い主とその教えを拒むなら、その代価を自分で支払わなければなりません。私たちが救い主を受け入れ、その戒めを守るならば、私たちはすべての罪の赦しを得ることができます。主はすでに私たち一人一人の罪の代価を支払ってくださっています。

A very important doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that all mankind will be resurrected.  Not just the good people.  Not just those who have been baptized.  Not just those who have received the ordinances of the temple.

イエス・キリストの福音のとても重要な教義は、人類が復活するということです。善良な人々だけではありません。バプテスマを受けた人だけでもありません。神殿の儀式を受けた人だけでもありません。

Everyone.

すべての人です。

At some point in time, everyone who has ever lived on this earth will be resurrected.  Our spirit and our body will be joined together again, never again to be separated.  There will be no more death.  

この地上に住んだことのあるすべての人がいつの日か復活するのです。私たちの霊と体は再び結合し、二度と離れることがありません。もう二度と死ぬことがないのです。

We are taught in the Doctrine & Covenants, Section 138, verse 50, that “the dead had looked upon the long absence of their spirits from their bodies as a bondage”.  It is only through the sacrifice of our Savior that we can be resurrected and once again have a physical body.

私たちは、教義と聖約の138章50節で、「死者​は、その​霊​が​体​から​長い​間​離れて​いる​こと​を​一つ​の束縛​と​考えた​から​で​ある」と教えられています。救い主の犠牲を通してのみ、私たちは復活し、再び肉体を持つことができるのです。

After we are resurrected, we will need to stand before the judgement bar of God and be judged of our performance here in this mortal life.  No one can escape that judgement.  No one can hide from it.  

復活した後、私たちは神の法廷に立ち、この死すべき人生における私たちの行いに応じて裁かれる必要があります。誰もその裁きから逃れることはできません。誰もそこから身を隠すことはできません。

For the wicked, the resurrection will be a day of fear, but for the righteous, the resurrection will be a wonderful blessing.    We will receive our bodies back in a perfect form, free from any disease, limitation, or handicap.  We will be able to live in happiness for all eternity with our families.  What a great blessing!

悪しき者にとっては復活は恐れの日ですが、義人にとっては復活はすばらしい祝福となるでしょう。私たちは、病気や限界、または身体に障害、ハンディキャップのない完璧な形で私たちの肉体を受けます。私たちは家族と永遠に幸せに暮らせるようになります。なんと素晴らしい祝福でしょう。

As we go through this next week, let’s remember what the Savior has done for each one of us.  Let’s remember his great Atonement.  Let’s remember that he made it possible for each one of us to be resurrected.  Let’s turn to the Savior, learn of him, and keep his commandments always.

新しい週が始まります。救い主が私たち一人一人のために何をされたか覚えて過ごしましょう。主の偉大な贖罪を思い起こしましょう。主が私たち一人一人を復活させることを可能にされたことを忘れないでください。救い主に立ち返り、主について学び、主の戒めを常に守りましょう。
