おお、覚えておきなさい。わが子よ、ベニヤミン王が彼の民に語った言葉を覚えておきなさい。まことに、将来来られるイエス・キリストの購いの血によってのみ人は救われるのであり、ほかには一切道も手段もないことを覚えておきなさい。まことに、イエス・キリストが世を購うために来られることを覚えておきなさい。ヒラマン書５：９

O remember, remember, my sons, the words which king Benjamin spake unto his people; yea, remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world.  Helaman 5:9

In the 5th chapter of Helaman, Helaman instructs his sons, Nephi and Lehi.  He reminds them of the history of the Nephites, and of the men they were named after.  He tells them to always remember their own names and to remember the first Lehi and Nephi.

ヒラマン書5章では、ヒラマンが息子のニーファイとリーハイを教え導いています。彼らにニーファイ人の歴史と彼らの名前の由来である人々を思い起こさせています。常に彼ら自身の名前の由来を覚え、最初のリーハイとニーファイのことを忘れないよう教えています。

He tells them to remember the words of king Benjamin, who taught his people about our Savior Jesus Christ.  In this short but very powerful scripture, Helaman reminds all of us about the great Atonement of Jesus Christ.

彼は救い主イエス・キリストについて教えたベニヤミン王の言葉を忘れないよう教えています。この短くても非常に力強い聖句で、ヒラマンは私たち全員にイエス・キリストの偉大な贖罪について思い起こさせています。

Even before this world was created, Jesus Christ was appointed to be the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind.  Ancient prophets testified of Jesus Christ many hundreds of years before his birth.  

この世界が造られる以前から、イエス・キリストはすべての人類の救い主、そして贖い主として選任されていました。古代の預言者たちはイエス・キリストについて降誕の何百年も前にそのことを証をしていました。

When Alma and Amulek were teaching the Zoramites, they cited scriptures by Zenos, by Zenock, and by Moses, that testified of Jesus Christ.  We do not have the records of either Zenos or Zenock in our Old Testament today, but those books were included on the plates of brass.

アルマとアミュレクがゾーラム人を教えていたとき、彼らはゼノスやゼノク、そしてモーセによってイエス・キリストについて証した聖句を引用しました。今日の旧約聖書にはゼノスとゼノクのどちらの記録もありませんが、それらは真鍮版に含まれていました。

Moses taught us very clearly about the coming of the Savior and about his Atonement.  We are told several times in the Book of Mormon that the Nephites understood that the law of Moses was given to prepare their minds for the coming of the Savior.

モーセは救い主の来臨と贖罪について非常にはっきりと教えてくれました。モーセの律法が救い主の来臨に彼らの心を備えるために与えられたことをニーファイ人は理解していたと、モルモン書の中で幾度も述べられています。

Throughout the scriptures, from Adam right up to our day, prophets and apostles have taught about and testified of Jesus Christ.  

聖典を通して、アダムから今日まで、預言者と使徒たちはイエス・キリストについて教え、証してきました。

King Benjamin, for example, taught that there was “no other way or means whereby man can be saved”.  It is only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ that salvation can come to us.  

たとえばベニヤミン王は、「人を救うことができる方法や手段は他にはない」と教えました。 救いが私たちにもたらされるのはイエス・キリストの贖いの血を通してのみです。

It is only through the great Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can repent of our sins.  It is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can be redeemed.  It is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we can return and live with Heavenly Father once again.

私たちが罪を悔い改めることができるのは、イエス・キリストの偉大な贖いを通してのみです。私たちが贖われるのは、イエス・キリストの贖罪を通してのみです。私たちが再び天父の共に戻り、暮らすことができるのは、イエス・キリストの贖罪を通してのみです。

Throughout all the eternities, Jesus Christ stands as our Redeemer and our Savior.  He is our elder brother.  He loves us with perfect love.  His greatest wish is that we will have faith in him, repent of our sins, and keep all of his commandments.

永遠にわたって、イエス・キリストは私たちの贖い主であり、救い主です。主は私たちの兄であり、完全な愛をもって私たちを愛しておられます。主の最大の願いは、私たちが主を信じ、罪を悔い改め、主のすべての戒めを守ることです。

Without Jesus Christ, there could be no hope.  Without Jesus Christ, there could be no joy.  Without Jesus Christ, there could only be darkness and misery.

イエス・キリストなしでは、希望はありません。イエス・キリストなしでは、喜びはありません。イエス・キリストなしでは、闇と苦悩しかありません。

I testify that Jesus Christ lives, that he is our Savior, that he died for our sins.  “Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives, ‘I know that my Redeemer lives’” (Hymn 136).

私はイエス・キリストが生きておられ、主が私たちの救い主であり、私たちの罪のために亡くなられたことを証します。 「ああ、喜びの言葉、主は生けると知る』」（日本語賛美歌75番）。
