And thus the work of the Lord did commence among the Lamanites; thus the Lord did begin to pour out his Spirit upon them; and we see that his arm is extended to all people who will repent and believe on his name. Alma 19:36
The sons of Mosiah were royalty. They were the sons of the king. One of them would be selected as the next king.
モーサヤの息子たちは王族でした。 彼らは王の息子でした。 通常、彼らの一人が次の王として選ばれる事になっていました。
That sounds like a great blessing. Would you like to be the king? If you were the king, you would be famous. You would have great authority. You would have great riches.
それは素晴らしい祝福のように思えます。あなたは王になりたくありませんか？きっと有名になり、大きな権力を持つでしょう。また大きな富も持つでしょう。
But the sons of Mosiah did not want any of that. They wanted to be missionaries. They wanted to teach the people about the great Plan of Salvation and about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Being a missionary was much more important to them than to be the king!
しかし、モーサヤの息子たちはそんなことは望んでいませんでした。 彼らは宣教師になりたかったのです。人々に偉大な救いの計画とイエス・キリストの贖罪について延べ伝えたかったのです。 彼らにとって、宣教師であることは王であることよりもはるかに重要なことでした。
Even more surprising, they wanted to be missionaries to the Lamanites. For hundreds of years, the Lamanites had been the enemies of the Nephites. The Lamanites had come to fight the Nephites many times. The Lamanites usually killed any Nephite that came into their land.
さらに驚くべきことに、彼らはレーマン人を教える宣教師になりたかったのです。何百年もの間、レーマン人はニーファイ人の敵でした。レーマン人はニーファイ人と何度も戦うために攻めてきました。レーマン人はよく、彼らの土地に入ってきたニーファイ人を殺しました。
And yet, these were the people that the sons of Mosiah wanted to teach.

They understood that everyone is a son or daughter of Heavenly Father. They understood that everyone needs to have an opportunity to hear the gospel. They understood that Heavenly Father loves all of his children.
彼らは誰もが天父の息子または娘であることを理解していました。 誰もが福音を聞く機会が必要であることや、天父がすべての子供を愛しておられることを理解していました。
Some of the greatest missionary experiences recorded in the Book of Mormon come from the missionary work of the sons of Mosiah.
モルモン書に記録されている最も優れた宣教師の経験談は、モーサヤの息子たちの宣教師の働きの中に見られます。
They went to a people who were their enemies and who might kill them. They suffered many trials as they went about teaching the people. Some of them were even put into prison.
彼らは自分たちの敵であり、彼らを殺すかもしれない人々のもとに行きました。 彼らが人々を教えに出向いたとき、多くの試練に苦しみました。 牢にも入れられました。
But through all their trials, they relied upon the Lord and his guidance. After suffering many things, they began to have some success. Some of the Lamanites began to listen to the message of the gospel.

One of those who listened was Lamoni, a son of the king of the Lamanites. His conversion led to the conversion of his father, king of all the Lamanites. Great miracles happened as these people who were once enemies to the Nephites began to feel the Spirit and accept the gospel.
その中の一人は、レーマン人の王の息子ラモーナイでした。 彼の改宗は、すべてのレーマン人の王である父の改宗へと導きました。 かつてニーファイ人の敵であったこれらの人々が御霊を感じ、福音を受け入れ始めたとき、大きな奇跡が起こりました。
One of the key lessons we can learn from the missionary experiences of the sons of Mosiah is that Heavenly Father loves all his children. It does not matter where they live in the world. It does not matter what language they speak. It does not matter what their culture is. They are all sons and daughters of Heavenly Father. They are our brothers and sisters.
モーサヤの息子たちの宣教師としての経験から学べる重要な教訓のひとつは、天父がすべての子供を愛しておられるということです。 彼らが世界のどこに住んでいるかは問題ではありません。 彼らが話す言語や、彼らの文化が何であるかは問題ではありません。 彼らはすべて天父の息子と娘です。 私たちの兄弟姉妹なのです。
The gospel of Jesus Christ is available to everyone who will listen, repent, and have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. No one is excluded. No one is turned away. No one is rejected.
イエス・キリストの福音は、救い主、イエス・キリストに耳を傾け、悔い改め、信仰を持つすべての人に与えられます。 誰も例外ではありませんし、誰も拒絶されることはありません。
As we go through this next week, let’s remember that everyone, everywhere, is a son or daughter of Heavenly Father. Let’s remember that everyone deserves the opportunity to hear the gospel. Let’s remember that it doesn’t matter what language they speak, or what their culture is, or what they look like. They are all our brothers and sisters.
新しい週が始まります。どこに住む、誰であっても天父の息子または娘であることを忘れないで過ごしましょう。誰もが福音を聞く価値がある事を覚えておきましょう。 話す言語、文化は何であるか、どのように見えるかは問題ではないことを覚えておきましょう。 彼らはすべて私たちの兄弟姉妹なのです。
Just like the sons of Mosiah, we have the opportunity to share the gospel even with those who may have been our enemies.
私たちはモーサヤの息子のように敵であった人々にさえ福音を分かち合う機会があるのです。
