And it came to pass that I Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commanded them. 1 Nephi 3:7
This week’s scripture thought is based on one of the most well-known scriptures in The Book of Mormon.
今週の霊的メッセージはモルモン書の中で最もよく知られたる聖句を基としています。
Lehi received a revelation from the Lord, instructing him to send his sons back to Jerusalem to get the Plates of Brass from Laban. The older boys had complained that it was too hard and too dangerous. They did not want to go.
リーハイは主より啓示を受け、レーバンから真鍮版を取ってくるよう息子たちをエルサレムに送るよう指示を受けました。上ふたりの息子たちはそれは難しく危険であると不平を言い、行きたくありませんでした。
But Nephi was willing to accept the direction of the Lord. He reminds us that the Lord will never give us a commandment that we cannot accomplish. If we do our best, the Lord will always help us complete the assignment.
しかし、ニーファイは主の命令を喜んで受け入れました。彼は私たちに主は成し遂げれない戒めなど与えられないことを思い起こさせています。最善を尽くせば主はアサイメントを成し遂げれるよういつも助けてくださいます。
Two words are particularly important in this scripture. “Go” and “do”.
この聖句の二つの言葉、「行く」と「行う」は特に重要です。
Nephi said, “I will go … and I will do”.
ニーファイは「私は行って、、、行う」と言いました。
That is the pattern that we need to follow in our own lives. “Go and do”.
これは私たちの生活でも従うべきパターンです。「行って行う」
Whenever we receive a new calling, we need to “go and do”. Whenever the prophet and the apostles give us new direction, we need to “go and do”. Whenever the Lord gives us inspiration through the Holy Ghost about things in our own lives, we need to “go and do”.
いつでも新しい召しを受ける時、私たちは「行って行う」必要があります。いつでも預言者や使徒が私たちに新しい指示を与える時は「行って行う」必要があります。いつでも主が聖霊を通して私たち自身の生活について霊感を与えられる時は「行って行う」必要があります。
It is interesting that the new program for the youth of the Church uses this same title, “Go and Do”.
教会の若人の新しいプログラムが同じ「行って行う」と言うタイトルが付けられているのは興味深いことです。
These two words are both action verbs. They require us to take action to accomplish something. They do not leave any excuse for us to stand idly by and do nothing.
この二つの言葉はどちらも動詞です。それは何かを達成するために行動することを要求しています。何もしないまま傍観するという言い訳はその言葉には見つかりません。
President Nelson has asked each of us to read from The Book of Mormon every day. Are will willing to “go and do”?
ネルソン大管長は毎日モルモン書を読むように私たち一人一人に勧告されました。私たちは喜んで「行って行い」たいと思っていますか？
We have been given the “Come, Follow Me” study guide to help us study the gospel, both as families and as individuals. We are now about 8 months into this study program. Are you willing to “go and do”?
We each have our individual callings in our own ward. Some callings may seem not very important. Other callings may seem very difficult. Are we willing to follow the pattern given by Nephi and “go and do”, no matter what our calling is?
私たちには家族や個人で福音を学ぶ助けとなるよう「私に従ってきなさい」という教材が与えられています。現在このプログラムの8か月目に入っています。あなたは喜んで「行って行って」いますか？私たちは誰もが自分のワードで召しを受けています。召しによってはあまり重要に思えなかったり、またある召しは非常に難しく思えるかもしれません。私たちは召しが何であっても喜んでニーファイの教えたパターンに従い、「行って行い」たいと思っていますか？
When Nephi and his brothers went to get the Brass Plates, they did not have immediate success. It was not an easy assignment. Two of the brothers wanted to give up. But Nephi refused to give up until they had completed the assignment. No matter how hard the task may seem, he was willing to “go and do”.
ニーファイと彼の兄弟が真鍮版を取りに行った時、すぐに成功しませんでした。簡単なアサイメントではありませんでした。二人の兄弟は諦めたいと思いました。しかしニーファイはアサイメントを成し遂げるまで諦めることを拒絶しました。
As we go through this next week, let’s be willing to “go and do” also. Let’s “go and do” all that the Bishop has asked us to do. Let’s “go and do” all that President Nelson has asked us to do. Let’s “go and do” all that the Lord has asked us to do.
喜んで「行って行いたい」という目的をもって来週を過ごしましょう。ビショップから頼まれたことは何でも「行って行い」ましょう。ネルソン大管長が行うよう勧告されたことはすべて「行って行い」ましょう。主が望まれることは何でも「行って行い」ましょう。
