「さて見よ、わたしの同胞よ、わたしはあなたがたに言う。もしあなたがたが心の変化を経験しているのであれば、また、贖いをもたらす愛の歌を歌おうと感じたことがあるのであれば、今でもそのように感じられるか尋ねたい。」アルマ５：２６
And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now? Alma 5:26
At one time in our lives, each of us felt the Spirit of God very strongly. Each of us wanted to be baptized. Each of us wanted to follow our Savior Jesus Christ.
But this life is full of troubles and trials. These trials sometimes weaken our testimonies and move us away from God.
Alma reminds us that it is not enough to have felt the Spirit in the past. The important thing is, can we still feel the Spirit of God in our lives today?
Alma teaches us that having a strong testimony takes work. We need to continue to do the things that helped us gain a testimony. We need to pray each day, to read the scriptures, to attend our Church meetings, to serve others.
The Lord has promised us that if we do these small things, we will receive great blessings. We will have greater faith. We will have stronger testimonies. We will be happier.
May we all work harder this week to keep the commandments. I know that if we will do this, we will receive the blessings that we need.
