そしてさらにあなたがたは、神の戒めを守る者の祝福された幸福な状態についても考えてほしい。見よ、これらの者は物質的にも霊的にも、すべてのことについて祝福を受ける。そして、もし最後まで忠実であり続けるならば、彼らは天に迎えられ、決して終わりのない幸福な状態で神とともに住めるのである。おお、これらのことが真実であることを記憶にとどめ、覚えておきなさい。主なる神がこれを言われたからである。モーサヤ書２：４１

And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God.  For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness.  O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.  Mosiah 2:41

In this scripture, king Benjamin teaches us what we need to do to be happy.  

この聖句ではベニヤミン王が幸福になるために何をすべきか教えています。

Everyone wants to be happy.  People are constantly searching for the “secret” of happiness.  Very few people find that secret.  That is because there is no “secret”.

誰もが幸せになりたいと思っています。人は幸福の「秘密」を探し続けています。そしてほんのわずかな人しかその「秘密を」見つけることが出来ません。なぜなら「秘密」などないからです。

King Benjamin tells us very clearly what the “secret” is.  The simple “secret” to being happy is to keep the commandments of God.  

ベニヤミン王はその「秘密」は何なのかを明確に教えています。幸福の簡単な「秘密」は神の戒めを守ることです。

If we keep the commandments, we are told that we will be “blessed in all things”.  We are told that we will have a “blessed and happy state”.  We are told that we will be blessed “both temporally and spiritually”.

戒めを守るならば私たちはすべてのことについて「祝福される」と教えています。私たちは「祝福された幸福な状態」を受け、「物質的にも霊的にも」祝福を受けると言われています。

It does not say that we will not have trials.  It does not say we will not have difficult times.  It does not say that everything will be easy.

試練を受けないとは言っていませんし、困難なときが無いとも言っていません。すべてが簡単であるとも言っていません。

We came here to this life to be tried and tested.  Nothing will change that.  Being tested is the reason we are here.  We need to be tested.  We need to show that we will be obedient.

私たちは試されテストを受けるためにこの世に来ました。それは変わることが無いのです。テストを受けることがここに居る理由なのです。私たちはテストを受け（試され）なければなりません。従順であることを示す必要があります。

But even with trials and hardships, we can still be happy.  We cannot change the trials of this life.  We can change how we feel about them.  We can be happy even during times of hardship and difficult trials.  

しかし試練や困難の中でも私たちは幸せで居ることができます。人生での試練を変えることは出来ませんが、それをどう受け止めるかは変えることが出来ます。私たちはたとえ困難と試しの中にあっても幸せで居ることができます。

If we follow the instructions given to us by king Benjamin, we will be able to be happy in this life.  If we keep the commandments, we will receive the promised blessings and happiness.

ベニヤミン王から与えられた教えに従うならばこの世で幸福になれるのです。戒めを守るならば約束された祝福と幸福を受けるのです。

More importantly, if we are “faithful to the end”, king Benjamin promises us that we will be “received into Heaven”.  He promises us that we will “dwell with God in a state of never ending happiness”.  

しかしもっと重要なのは、もし「最後まで忠実であるなら」ベニヤミン王は私たちは「天に迎えられ」ると約束していることです。

There is no greater blessing than to live forever with God in happiness.  

神と共に幸福な状態で永遠に住むこと以上の祝福はありません。

All we have to do is to keep the commandments.  That is the great “secret” of happiness.

私たちがすべきことはただ戒めを守ることだけです。それが幸福の偉大な「秘密」なのです。

May we all work hard this week to keep all the commandments.  May we try to do a little better each day to keep the commandments.  May we do all those things that we need to do so we can be “blessed and happy”.  “Oh remember, remember, that these things are true.”

今週もすべての戒めを守るため一生懸命頑張れますように。戒めを守るための努力が日々、昨日より少しでもよくできますように。「祝福された幸福な状態」になるため、なすべきすべてのことができますように。「おお、これらのことが真実であることを記憶にとどめ、覚えておきなさい。」

I know that these things are true.  I know that each of us can receive these blessings.  I know that the “secret” to happiness is the same for each of us.  I know that we can do it!

これらの事が真実だと知っています。私たちは皆これらの祝福を享受できると知っています。幸福のための「秘密」は私たちすべてに共通だと知っています。私たちはそれが出来ると知っています。
