さて、初めにあったこの神権は、世の終わりにもあるであろう。モーセ６：７

Now this same Priesthood, which was in the beginning, shall be in the end of the world also. Moses 6:7

As we read the Book of Moses, which gives an account of the creation of the world and of our first parents, Adam and Eve, we learn many things that have been lost from the Bible.

世界の創造と私たちの最初の両親であるアダムとイブについて書かれているモーセの書を読むことで、聖書から失われた多くのことが学べます。

We learn in more detail about the creation of this world, about Adam and Eve, and about their children.  

私たちは、この世界の創造について、アダムとイブについて、そして彼らの子孫について、より詳しく学べます。

In particular, we learn that the gospel does not change.  The gospel was taught to Adam and Eve and they were given the duty and responsibility to teach it to their children and posterity.

特に、福音は変わらないということを学びます。 福音はアダムとイブに教えられ、子供たちと後世に福音を教える義務と責任が与えられました。

The Priesthood was given to Adam, which allowed him to perform ordinances for his family and his descendants.  Without the authority of the Priesthood, no one could have been baptized.  No one could have received the gift of the Holy Ghost.  No one could have received any Priesthood blessings.

神権がアダムに与えられたことで、彼は家族と子孫のために儀式を行うことができました。神権の権能がなければ、だれもバプテスマを受けられなかったでしょう。誰も聖霊の賜物を受けられなかったでしょう。神権の祝福も受けられなかったでしょう。

As we read the sad story of the descendants of Adam, we see that they did not repent.  They did not follow the gospel.  They did not keep the commandments.  

アダムの子孫の悲しい出来事を読むと、彼らが悔い改めなかったことがわかります。彼らは福音に従わず、戒めを守りませんでした。

Because of their wickedness, the Priesthood was taken from them.  Only certain faithful prophets were able to hold the Priesthood.  Those prophets were sent to warn the people to repent and told them of the consequences of sin.

邪悪さのために、神権は彼らから取り去られました。忠実な預言者だけが神権を授けられました。それらの預言者は、人々に悔い改めるように警告し、罪の結果について告げるために遣わされました。

From the days of Adam down to the time of Jesus Christ, the Priesthood was taken from the earth several times.  As each new Dispensation began, the Lord again called prophets to teach and warn the people.  Noah, Abraham, Moses, and other Old Testament prophets received the Priesthood and were authorized to bless those who repented.  

アダムの時代からイエス・キリストの時代まで、神権は何度か地上から取り去られました。新しい神権時代が始まる旅に、主は預言者を召され、人々に教え、警告されました。ノア、アブラハム、モーセ、その他の旧約聖書の預言者は神権を授かり、悔い改めた人々を祝福する権能を与えられました。

Sadly, each of those Dispensations ended with the Priesthood once again being taken from the earth because of the wickedness of the people.  After the Savior’s mortal ministry, it was not long before the Priesthood had to be taken from the earth again.

悲しいことに、これらの神権時代は、人々の邪悪さのために神権が地上から取り去られることで終わってしまいました。死すべき世で救い主が教導の業を行われた後、再び神権が地上から取り去られるまでそう長くはありませんでした。

For nearly 2,000 years, the earth was in darkness.  There were no prophets to teach the people.  There was no Priesthood authority to bless the people.  No one could be baptized.

2,000 年近くの間、地球は暗闇に包まれていました。人々に教える預言者はいませんでした。人々を祝福する神権の権能はありませんでした。誰もバプテスマを受けることができませんでした。

But as promised by Adam in this prophecy, the long-waited day finally arrived.  In the year of 1829, the Priesthood of God was finally restored to the earth.  John the Baptist restored the authority of the Aaronic Priesthood and Peter, James, and John restored the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood.

しかし、この予言でアダムが約束したように、待望の日がついに到来しました。1829年、神の神権はついに地上に回復されました。バプテスマのヨハネはアロン神権の権能を回復し、ペテロ、ヤコブ、ヨハネはメルキゼデク神権の権能を回復しました。

At long last, the darkness over the earth was pushed aside by the light of the restored gospel.  With the Priesthood authority once again on the earth, blessings began to flow forth from the Lord.  It was now possible for righteous people to receive the ordinances of baptism and of the gift of the Holy Ghost.  When keys of the Priesthood were restored in the Kirtland Temple, the great work of the temples and of the redemption of the dead could begin.

ついに、回復された福音の光によって、地球上の闇が取り除かれました。再び地上に神権の権能が回復されると、主から祝福が溢れるように注がれました。義人はバプテスマと聖霊の賜物の儀式を受けることができるようになりました。カートランド神殿で神権の鍵が回復されたとき、神殿のすばらしい業と死者の贖いが再び始まりました。

It is by the authority of the Priesthood that we are able to receive all the ordinances and blessings necessary for us to return and live with our Heavenly Parents once again.  Through the power of the Priesthood, and because of the great Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins.  

神権の権能によって、私たちが天の両親と再び暮らすために必要なすべての儀式と祝福を受けることができるのです。神権の力を通して、そして私たちの救い主イエス・キリストの大いなる贖罪を通して、私たちの罪は赦されるのです。

What a great blessing it is to have the Priesthood again on the earth.  We are promised that the Priesthood will never again be taken from the earth.  How blessed we are.

再び神権が地上にあることは、なんとすばらしい祝福でしょう。神権が二度と地上から取り去られることはないと約束されています。私たちはどれほど祝福されていることでしょう。

As we continue on through this new year, let’s remember what a great blessing it is to each of us that the Priesthood, with its keys, power, and authority, has been restored to the earth.  Let’s remember that it is only through those Priesthood ordinances that we can receive salvation.  Let’s remember our sacred duty to receive those same Priesthood ordinances for our own ancestors.  

新しい年が始まりました。鍵、力、権能を持つ神権が地上に回復されたことは、わたしたち一人一人にとって大きな祝福であることを心に留めて過ごしましょう。私たちが救いを受けることができるのは、これらの神権の儀式を通してのみであることを忘れないでください。先祖のために同じ神権の儀式を受けるという私たちの神聖な義務を忘れないでください。
