And I give unto you a commandment that ye shall do these things.  And if ye shall always do these things blessed are ye, for ye are built upon my rock.  3 Nephi 18:12

第三ニーファイでは、救い主がニーファイの民に教えられた多くのことが書かれています。これらは救い主が現世でユダヤ人の間で教えられたのと同じ教義です。例えば、山上の垂訓がニーファイ人の利益のためにここでも繰り返されています。

In 3rd Nephi, we read many things that the Savior taught the people of the Nephites.  These are the same doctrines that the Savior taught during his mortal ministry among the Jews.  For example, the scriptures from the Sermon on the Mount are repeated here for the benefit of the Nephites.

救い主が民に教えられた最も重要な教義の一つは、聖餐の重要性についてでした。主は地上での教導のときと同じように、民に聖餐について教えられました。エルサレムで聖餐について教えられたのは、十二使徒だけでした。

One of the most important doctrines that the Savior taught the people was about the importance of the sacrament.  Just as he had done during his mortal ministry, the Lord taught the people about the sacrament.  In Jerusalem, the only people that we know were taught about the sacrament were the twelve apostles.  

しかし、ニーファイ人の間では、聖餐について教えられたのは十二使徒だけではありませんでした。すべての人々が聖餐について教えられました。主は彼らに、聖餐の象徴とそれがなぜそれほど重要なのかを教えられました。

Among the Nephites, though, it was not just the twelve disciples that were taught about the sacrament.  All the people were taught about the sacrament.  The Lord taught them about the symbolism of the sacrament and why it is so important.  

救い主は、裂かれたパンは十字架上で引き裂かれ血を流した救い主の体を象徴していると説明されました。そして、ぶどう酒は私たちのために流された救い主の血を象徴していると説明されました。

The Savior explained that the broken bread represents and is symbolic of the body of the Savior, torn and bleeding upon the cross.  He then explained that the wine represents and is symbolic of his blood, shed for us.

7節では、聖餐を受けることは「あなたがたがいつもわたしを覚えていることを父に示す証となる」と教えられています。10節では、「これは、わたしの命じたことをあなたがたが喜んで行うことを、父に証明するものである」と教えられています。

In verse 7, we are taught that taking the sacrament is “a testimony unto the Father that you do always remember me”.  In verse 10, we are taught that “this doth witness unto the Father that ye are willing to do that which I have commanded you”.

聖餐にふさわしくあずかる者には、大いなる約束が与えられています。 7節と11節で「わたしの御霊を受けるであろう」と教えられています。

Great promises are given to those who worthily partake of the sacrament.  We are taught in verse 7 and again in verse 11 that “ye shall have my Spirit to be with you”.  

毎週、私たちはニーファイ人と同じように集まり、聖餐を受ける機会があります。毎週、悔い改めてバプテスマの聖約を新たにする機会が与えられます。毎週、救い主イエス・キリストに従い、戒めを守る意思があることを御父に証明する機会があります。

Each week, we have the opportunity to meet together and to partake of the sacrament, just as the Nephites did.  Each week, we are given the chance to repent and to renew our baptismal covenants.  Each week, we have the opportunity to witness to the Father that we are willing to follow our Savior Jesus Christ and keep his commandments.

イエス・キリストの弟子として、私たちには聖餐会に出席する義務と責任があります。教会のあらゆる集会の中で、聖餐会は最も重要です。聖餐会が最も重要であるのは、そのとき私たちは聖餐の儀式に参加できるからです。

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have both a duty and a responsibility to attend Sacrament meeting.  Of all the meetings in the Church, Sacrament meeting is by far the most important.  It is the most important because that is the time we are able to participate in the ordinance of the sacrament.

私たちは誰でも間違いや罪を犯します。しかし、イエス・キリストの贖罪のおかげで、悔い改めて再び清くなることができます。バプテスマの儀式は生涯に一度しか受けられません。しかし、聖餐の儀式を通して、毎週同じ祝福を受けることができます。

We all make mistakes and commit sins.  But because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can repent and become clean again.  We are only able to receive the ordinance of baptism one time in our life.  However, we can receive the same blessings through the ordinance of the sacrament each week.  

聖餐を受ける準備をするとき、私たちは自分の生活を吟味し、自分の過ちや罪を悔い改めなければなりません。ふさわしい状態で聖餐を受けることによって、私たちは再び清くなることができます。ふさわしい状態で聖餐を受けることによって、私たちは御父と救い主イエス・キリストを愛していることを御父に証明することができます。ふさわしい状態で聖餐を受けることによって、私たちは聖餐に関連するすべての祝福を受けることができます。

As we prepare to partake of the sacrament, we should examine our own lives and repent of our mistakes and sins.  By worthily partaking of the sacrament, we can once again become clean.  By worthily partaking of the sacrament, we can witness to the Father that we love him and our Savior Jesus Christ.  By worthily partaking of the sacrament, we can receive all the blessings associated with the sacrament.

新しい週が始まります。聖餐式にふさわしくあずかれるよう時間を取って準備しましょう。イエス・キリストの贖罪と、私たち一人一人のために何が行われたかを思い起こしましょう。聖餐を受けるために集まるように命じられていることを忘れないようにしましょう。そして、ふさわしい状態で聖餐を受けましょう。

As we go through this week, let’s take time to prepare to worthily partake of the sacrament.  Let’s remember the Atonement of Jesus Christ and what was done for each one of us.  Let’s remember that we are commanded to meet together to partake of the sacrament.  Let’s do so worthily.
